Marker light turn signal mod?

The turn signals located on my bumps are now just parking lights that stay on all the time when my headlights are on.

Thanks for the info. I was wondering if the bumper lights continued to act as turn signals after this mod. Now I know!

Sorry for the late response. I don't have pics but I will explain the best I can. The module has 3 inputs: Ground, Positive from turn signal, and positive from the parking lights. The module take these signals and outputs a ground and positive. So simply put, the ground and positive output goes to a single filament LED light. So when you use the turn signal the LED light turns off and on. When you turn off the signal, it goes back to parking light mode which is on all the time.

I have my parking lights (next to headlights) as my parking lights and turn signals. The turn signals located on my bumps are now just parking lights that stay on all the time when my headlights are on.

Did you purposely rewire the bumper lights as parking lights only?

iirc, somebody over at YT retrofitted a second bulb to the front clearance light, with the second bulb being a turn signal.
i don't remember if it was a 4Runner or a Tacoma

I just rewired my marker lights to alternately blink with the turn signals.
here

Ultimately, I'll wire in a relay circuit to make markers blink exactly in synch with the turn signals, similar to the way DRL's become turn signals when turn signals are activated.

Yes I did. I liked the look of it so I went with it.

I figured you did but just wanted to make sure.
Scoop'02 the bumper lights will still work as turn signals if you wire those modules as per the manufacturer's diagram, cbr just happened to rewire his bumper lights as parking lights only.

I did something different. Check out my build thread. I put a dual filament bulb and socket in. No pictures because my camera on my phone sucks.

That's always a simple and easy solution if u have room.
"CREE"..... You must be a big fan of very bright LED's! :)
Great invention.

Thanks for the clarification Ed_C! I didn't think to ask if cbr900boy wired it like that intentionally.

What light/bulb in the OEM taillight housing uses the 7443 bulb?.. is it just the standard light that’s on when you turn your headlights on?

The brake light. Only three wire plug in it. That's exactly what I did. Works beautifully.

I just did something similar, but I swapped the harnesses. I did cut and solder, but it works so much better.

I only "swapped" since I have a BanditRunner bumper and some great amber LEDs in my marker lights. Very visible from the side and front.

This picture was taken with the hazards on. The smaller LEDs in the bumper were the previous blinkers.

Those are fancy. I just used these and a drill to do mine and 2 other rigs. Still have 4 left.

still have any of those left?

For those interested, I created a thread a while back detailing how to incorporate the turn signal into the OEM marker light housing WITHOUT modifying the housing or anything like that, just by using a couple of diodes, a resistor, and a new bulb - to make the marker light act like a dual filament bulb.

HOW TO: Turn Signal / Marker Light Combo WITHOUT Drilling into Marker Light Housing

I've been running this setup for over 6 months and everything still works just like the day I did the mod.
