I severly hurt my lower back doing things hubby cant due to his heartattack.
Most days I have to pick up my right leg high enough to get in. Chiropractic care helps some. Anywho, I had the chance to see a 2012 highlander. Interior space was great and I could get in and out without trouble as it sits lower than my Runner. I LOVE the look of my runner, so much nicer than the look of a highlander. I would be moving over to the highlander forum but still peeking in here for neat ideas!! My runner is a great suv and it is what it is, a truck like suv so for the other thread that started bashing them, you will never hear that from me!!:hunter:

Assuming you don't regularly go offroading I think you will be very happy with the highlander. It is a very good vehicle.

I like the looks of the new Highlander. Every time I ride in one, I'm surprised at how comfortable they are -- tons of room in the back.

I have a 2008 highlander and love it to death. I have a 2012 T4R on order, because I am ready to go back to sitting high. This will be my 3rd T4R to own. In saying that you will fall in love with the highlander...the ride is so smooth an quiet. Be careful though, it's so quiet you will not realize how fast you are going. I got pulled over going 90 and didn't realize it until it was oh too late.

Sorry to hear that. I've have bad back issues for about 12 years now so I totally understand. I'm dreading the day it starts impacting my car choices. I admit though the Highlander is a nice ride and a good compromise if switching to more of a crossover suv. good luck!

Back problems led to me getting running boards. The were a huge help because I don't have to lift my leg as high to get in.

Highlander is a very good vehicle. Was even considering it myself. Good luck with your back, my wife's only 52 but she has a 65 year old back.
