By the way I'm not sure I ever thanked you for this info. I'm gonna source some 1/2 all thread and use heat shrink then figure out some good quick release straps.

Thanks Rob, I spent some considerable time trying to figure that one out. As much as I like the Gobi rack, I'm pretty sure I'll be going with the ARB Touring rack and need to find a way to fix a couple pairs of skis to it. When you finish, could you send me some close up pictures? Thanks again.
