Michelin LTX M/S2 LT(E)

Long story short I ended up having to put new sneakers on our 4R we've had for less than a week. Went to Discount Tire and they either had P or LT(E) tires in stock and they weren't putting the one I needed fixed that was leaking back on. The stock Duelers were only going to last another 5K at most anyway. Since we'll be throwing 3600lbs of popup behind it + any other stuff in the vehicle I went with the E-load rated tires. Got back here and started seeing the increased pressure recommendations. Looking at all the threads/charts on pressure for LT tires ,talking with Michelin (they recommended 50psi all the time), and my brother-in-law who owns a Goodyear store in another state for many, many years I'm a little confused.

BIL and DT says run em at 35psi around town or highway when it's just us in the truck grocery getting, and take it up to 45-50psi if I'm pulling any trailer up to max tow limit. Toyo chart says about 45psi to match the OEM P's rating. Michelin 50 psi.

We are leaving on an 1100 mile trip pulling a 5x8 Uhaul (should be less than 1500lbs loaded total weight for trailer) to take my son to college Friday morning.

Any suggestions at this point will be most appreciated!

All right then. Since I haven't had time to really try different pressures I'm going with 45psi on this trip with the U-Haul trailer. Trailer weighs 900 lbs empty and we'll have about 3-400 lbs in it with 3 passengers at 550lbs plus another 50-100 lbs of stuff.



Update: Pulled the 5x8 U-Haul weighing around 1500-1600lbs plus another couple 100 in the back of the 4runner. Then me, my wife, and son. Ran it with 45psi cold switching between 4S and 5S gears the first 300 miles. Checked them after the first 300 miles mostly in 102 degree heat. Fronts were at 48.5-49 psi, passenger rear was at 49 and driver rear at 51 ( 180lb son was sitting on that side so I think more weight? ). Got 14.5 mpg on the first tank pulling into a 30-35 MPH headwind and 16.5 mpg after the wind died to 15 mph and rolling hills having to drop into 3S quite a bit. Not too bad I think. Looking at the dust on the tread it's missing the last 1/4 inch of tread on each side on all 4 tires.
