Looks like it was an awesome trip.

A group of us are going to DV on 11/20 & 11/21. You should join. I'm leaving SD at 3pm on Friday.

Ton of fun and the weather was great. I definitely would but will just be coming back from the Baja 1000 then it's off to Vegas. Now that the weather has calmed down there will be plenty of opportunities.

Ran into some licensing issues with Baja 1000, and instead of dropping some serious coin just to share photos of the trip we decided to head north instead.

With the recent snowfall and epic start to this ski season, we are heading to the eastern Sierras for some nice and snowy expeditions and some early season ski at Mammoth.

Getting a few things done today including painting the calipers. Will update with finished pictures!

I used to have that jack, until my brother borrowed it, who then had it stolen out of the back of his truck. He says he will get me another one. Not counting on it. Oh well.

Know the feeling! It's a great jack but wish it had just a wee bit more lift so I can get the whole side up at a time. Sliders will help big time.

All finished up here. While the suspension was out I decided to clean house and give the undercarriage a fresh coat. Also got some VHT Burnt Copper paint for the calipers and I'm real happy with the result. I was going for the Brembo gold and this was a pretty damn close match.

Also got the ARB awning mounted with Gobi's first party mount. I didn't even know they made as many accessories as they did for these racks. I initially tried designing my own, and while it got the job done was not clean or reliable. This definitely fixes that.

Next post will be from the mountains!

What jack is that? Been looking for a good jack for trucks. I have a arcan quick rise but it struggles with the 4runner.

Awesome truck by the way was looking for this build the other day because a buddy said he never seen a good looking 4runner.

Truck looks great as always!

You can get that jack at Harbor Freight. It's a good jack, I've got the same one. It's low profile so it's good for working on cars, but it also goes pretty high so it works well on our trucks as well.

Most of the harbor freight coupons don't apply to floor jacks unfortunately.

Nice work Miller. Looks good as always.

Just got back from Mammoth and what a blast! I'll give a full trip report in the next post shortly but wanted to share a picture and quick video.

Mammoth Lakes, Minarets of eastern Sierras - approx. 8700 feet

What. A. Week.

It looks like those El Nino predictions are on point so far. A few recent dumps coated Mammoth, and with the Baja 1000 plans falling through decided to cut our losses and head for snow.

Slept two nights in the woods, both mid-high 20s with low wind. Totally bearable, but waking up for a midnight tinkle will get you wide awake. Ice coated the tent in the mornings, but under the layers was pretty dang comfortable. The first morning we woke up to what I assume were wolf tracks around the perimeter of the car. Not sure what his intentions were but I've never been happier to be 7 feet off the ground. Set up camp in the same location the next night with no incident.

As always, enjoy the pictures!

Looks great. I really like those black Cali plates on the black truck. I can't wait to get some red Toytec springs under mine as well.

What kind of paint did you use on the calipers? Been looking for a color like that for a while.

Me too man! I tried getting as close as I could to Brembo gold and this was pretty good. VHT burnt copper.

Those plates are the best $50 I spent on the truck. Really finishes it off especially with the regulars being white..big difference.

Did you sand the calipers any or did you just brake cleaner and spray on. The more I see your truck the more I want those tires.

Just cycled through all of the pages of your build while waiting for some items I'm painting on my Runner to dry in the garage. Very entertaining to see what you've built and where it is been capable of taking you. Keep it up!
