I did light sanding, steel wool, and alcohol and a good wipe down from a lint free rag. The coats went on great but should mention the paint runs very easy if you over apply.
To be honest, I'm not keeping up with exact numbers. After a certain point you just resolve to forking out more for your trips. It definitely impacts mileage - maybe 1-2 mpg - but has barely affected how it drives which was a concern prior to putting it on. The only difference is it forces air down with the sunroof totally open.
They are coming but have a pretty idea of what I want and will need to go the custom route. Sooner or later I want to add the rear bumper with swing out, and if I end up having that made custom I'll knock out sliders and skids at the same time.

This build is rocking and rolling. A few more exciting things coming up soon, but wanted to share today's big news.
Today I signed with LCE Performance and Magnuson to bring their supercharger to the 4Runner. As many of you know, Magnuson was the manufacturer behind the TRD supercharger. After TRD's decision to end their program, Magnuson decided to continue production and sell under their own brand name.
LC Engineering has a long history in Toyota performance and was ecstatic to have them involved with this. It's a shame TRD decided to quit the supercharger program, but I am excited to see the product live on. As always expect lots of pretty pictures and videos. I will be doing an installation video as well as photo instructions and will definitely add to the supercharger thread if necessary. That thing is so big I may not have anything new to add to that haha but we will see.
Next time I post should have some equally cool information

December is rocking and rolling and 2016 is really shaping up to be the year this trucks hits the next level.
First though, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Kwanza, Hannukah - whatever your flavor is - I hope you're all able to spend time with friends and family. It's been a great year and it's been a pleasure meeting some of the new faces. Wishing you all the happiness and success in the new year!
The supercharger is in!
We will be filming the install for Magnuson/LCE and plan to tackle tranny cooler, tranny flush, spark plugs, and valve cover gaskets all at the same time more or less. Hoping to install shortly after the new year.
Also pulled the trigger on the Gibson cat-back exhaust which will be here next week or so. Considering that's bolt on I'll probably put that on before the supercharger. I've had a turn-down exhaust exit since the old build maybe 2008ish, so seeing a tailpipe is going to be a little weird at first. Can't wait to hear how it sounds though!
I am looking to get a mini Android tablet to mount beneath the radio to have a nice clean look for OBD readings. When the exterior wraps up I'll be focusing on the interior and have a ton planned, so I'm going to make the tablet install as crisp as possible so it's right at home after the interior is totally wrapped up.
I told you guys I'd have some pretty cool info on my next post and I'm doing my best not to disappoint here It is my pleasure to welcome CBI Off Road Fab to the build!!! CBI bumpers have been my absolute favorite since I got into 4Runners. CBI is working on a new design for their swing out and will equipping that as soon as it is finished. Expected install date is early February.
Momentum is as good as ever and I plan on taking full advantage into the new year. I have another sponsorship I'm finalizing and will make that announcement when everything is settled. That one will ensure the interior overhaul kicks off the right way.

No new progress here, but went out to Noble Canyon on Christmas to try and catch some San Diego snow. Looks like we're early by a few days but enjoyed it nonetheless. One of my favorite places in southern California and never disappoints.

Hey I went through your build thread looking to see what brand of hid projectors you went with and couldn't find it. I really like the look because they look stock and I'm looking to do that with both of my 4runners. Great build btw! [MENTION=8329]MillerPKA[/MENTION]

Installed the supercharger this weekend! Install took longer than expected but the results were immediate. I want to tighten up the vacuum lines and having to replace one from the evap to manifold because the inlet on the sc was slightly bigger and tore the hose. Need to come up with some conversion where one end is slightly larger.
I am also looking into putting the stock airbox and intake back in. The inline air filter I have now with the snorkel may be bringing too much air into the system and leaning it out even further. It was a great setup while naturally aspirated and may go back to it after the proper fuel mods are installed.
Also got around to giving it the full detail treatment yesterday. No pics right now but after a couple months of weekend abuse, it was time to get this thing shiny again. Also worked on detailing the engine bay and have to say this is probably the cleanest my ride has been, even since the last one.
I'll get some pictures and videos up soon. Forgot if I mentioned it earlier but I installed the Gibson cat back exhaust last week. Had my buddy drive it for me so I could hear how she sounds outside, and man it's a whole different animal.
Rear bumper is coming up next and probably a couple weeks out. Spare tire gets delivered today, ordering rim next week and hope to install everything by mid-February.

Took a trip out to the desert and had a great time breaking the supercharger in. Very satisfied with the output and excited to see what the fuel mods do when I get to them.
CBI rear tire will be here in 2-3 weeks and hoping to install by end of February. Have the spare tire ready I just need to order the wheel. After that it's just skid/sliders and getting the Bushwackers mounted and painted then the exterior is done. Then starts the interior. Will also be completing some overlanding mods in the process like dual battery, aux block, wiring, water tank with pump, etc. Long ways to go but enjoying every step.

Awesome pictures as always.. Btw, how do you get your ARB bumper so shiny? Do you put anything on it?

That picture you copied is the cave in on Fish Creek! Pretty sure we could have managed it but decided to turn around here because of lack of fuel and armor. Plan on coming back when the skids sliders and Rotopax are on.
I treat it the same as my paint. Just gave it a full detail a week ago and the bumper got compounded, polished and waxed. Keeps the color dark and protects it from the sun out here.

Small progress! Bumper is still in progress so I've been spending time elsewhere. In the beginning stages of developing an app so the lull has been good for me.
As for the bumper, this is going to be a protoype of a new swing arm latching design for them. With that, they're making extra sure of the integrity before shipping. It would be a huge pain in the butt for them to realize something was off after I receive it. I sent them measurements and pictures of the Gobi positioning so the swingout is being built to accommodate that. Spare Grabber is sitting in my room and ordering the matching rim sometime soon. I'm partnering with Ceramic Pro to get the accessories ceramic coated. Very impressive technology that I'll cover more when I get there. I'm hoping to have it on by the end of April, maybe sooner if it ships this week.
Optima Batteries signed on as a sponsor 2 weeks ago to power the dual battery setup. As soon as I can find time I will be upgrading the big 3 with some other tweaks and getting the Yellow and Red Top installed.
After that, the interior begins. I am going to partner with Corbeau for the front seats, and possibly a baja bench for the rear. Either way, the seats and door inserts will be reupholstered in either saddle brown or Imola Red leather. The headliner, doors, carpet, and everything else will be painted, dyed or replaced with black. Sound deadening will be installed while the parts are drying.
After that's done I'm pretty sure I'm done with the truck as far as major modifications. There are some overlanding mods I really want to tackle like on board water tank with pump and heater. So the projects will keep rolling but the aesthetics should be set in stone by then.

Still a work in progress but the CBI bumper and swing out are on. Matching spare is being mounted and balanced now and will mount this evening.
I'll cover in more detail later, but I am getting the powder coat ceramic coated this evening for added protection. Really impressive stuff. Updates soon!
