MillerPKA Build Thread #2

Taking the plunge. Over the next 8 weeks I'm going to be transforming the interior, boring maintenance, upgrading some of the suspension components and possibly repainting.

The interior is going to be black with custom black/tobacco red seats, door inserts, armrests, and t-case shifter boot. New Recaros, carpet, interior wheels, sound system, infared camera, and a few other things are en route. Trying to get this thing ready for OE West.

I'll try to keep this thread updated, but I'll be documenting the progress on our neglected YouTube channel (YouTube). Can't wait to get started!

Truck is still looking sweet!

Still living in SD I presume? If you are ever down to do an overlanding trip the Sierra or maybe Utah with a small group, maybe later this summer let me know.

My schedule should open up after May so I'll definitely keep you posted!

Well we have one month until black truck is in the General Tire booth at Expo West, so I thought I'd give this thing a proper overhaul ahead of time.

I just got the truck back from a new paint job last week, and now the fun begins. The interior is getting totally ripped out, sound deadened, replaced with black carpet and trim pieces. New Recaro Sportster GTs for the front, and reupholstering all seats, door inserts, headrests, arm rests, and t-case shifter boot to red Ambla leather. New sound system, infared camera system after that and the interior will be done. Small maintenance like new radiator, swapping rear axle housings, new suspension etc. then we are off to Expo! Hope to see everyone there!

This version is way better than the previous build. Seems as though the tire sponsorship has panned out to be the best of them all! Black is the best color.

Been nonstop since Thursday. 15 hours round trip to my dad's cousin's shop near Monterey. 22 hours cranking out the reupholstering. Just got back into town. Front and rear seats are done and he's having to send me the door panels, headrests, arm rests and t-case shifter boot on Friday. Pulling the rest of the interior throughout the week and prepping for panel painting, sound deadening, new carpet and sound system. Less than 3 weeks to go.

Miller, where we at on the interior...members are losing sleep over no updates

I've been out of the loop on 4Runner mods myself...got into Land Cruisers. :tape2: Jumped from one expensive hobby to a more expensive one...

Still a work in progress.

Hey Miller, any updates?

I'm not sure how often he's on here anymore... but I can shed some light on his rig situation. He sold off this legendary 3rd gen (two years ago now I think), built up an awesome 5th gen, and just sold that. So what's next? Well, a G-Wagon that will be super cool I'm sure. Anyway, hopefully he hops on here for a formal update for everyone.

Agreed. I know no one keeps cars forever, but it seems like 3rd gens are a dying breed.

I've thought about selling mine for a tundra, but the cons still outweigh the pros.

Thought many times about selling mine, but just can't do it. Instead, it sits in my driveway aging gracefully. I've put maybe 3000 miles on it over the last couple of years.
