Any idea what trails will be ran on Friday morning? I will be running with the family on Saturday but would like to hit a trail or 2 with you guys on Friday. Really it depends on the trail!!!

Some guys are taking it easy and some are going out. Check out the trip planning thread on TW. Basically show up at BFE and there will be a few groups going lll

This will be my first Moab trip camping or otherwise.

I'd also suggest you buy the book on Moab so you have maps and understand the trail names.

Did you get the one Brian linked earlier? I got it and I hate the way the cover was implemented. Thinking of ripping it off; then I could lay it flat on the page I'm looking at. Otherwise seems to have some good info, it's much more up-to-date than the old one we used to use.

Yeah that one. And yeah. Spiral bound is great but yhen that cover prevents you from opening the book all the way which is what spiral bound is great for.

Well I mean like folded all the way back. Though I suppose that might work after the spine is worn in some it's just really stiff when new.

Now, just understand that I'm not taking my 3 month old truck up Hell's Revenge!!!

I'll be sticking to Med trails at worst this trip

As it ages and I get bumpers and 33in tires and more trail experience I'll move up slowly.

No the design is fine. I'd just like to be able to open it all the way or fold it over. I might try to trim the cover and have it punched for the spiral binding so it can be folded over all the way and still keep the cover.

Some of us don't get decent cell coverage outside of Moab.

That is fair enough bud. There are plenty of trails that are stockish friendly. I am sure the Taco guys will love to see how the 5ths preform

We had planned to go to lake powell this weekend but my wife just said "Why don't we just take the 4runner to Moab?" Which coincidently coincides quite well with this trip.

We will arrive Friday night and be ready for trails Saturday on Sunday. I have only read the first page of this thread but wanted to post up that we were coming. I am going to read through now. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Is everyone planning to stay at BFE? Was just over on TW and looking around here it like they will have close to 100 rigs at BFE. I realize this is a social event but prefer my camping/time away to peaceful. Not sure I am up for the whole big group. Not to mention BFE's location, though nice for large group use, isn't exactly convenient for the trails I'd like to run.

As far as developed campgrounds go I have always like sand flats and it has immediate access to trails.

PS Fins and Things is at the top of my list for this trip. Anyone else interested in it either Saturday or Sunday?

I get what you are saying. There will be a lot of trucks.

My plan is to at least stay there Thursday night and if it sucks then we will find our own spot for Friday and Saturday night.

Cell service is supposed to be spotty to non existent so I really need to be at BFE to meet people to do some runs with.

I will be a single truck with my buddy Grant as passenger. No girls on this trip. My point is though I know no one and don't know the trails. I'd prefer not to wheel alone.

If anyone else is open to exchanging contact info I'm up for that.
