looking at the picture, its a magnetizing/demagnetizing tool.

oh and I know someone that bought one of those inspection cameras for, well, not quite a medical purpose... lol

Nah, an 18" wrecking bar works just as good!

*) Yellow wire connectors are for AIR BAGS, disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes before disconnecting the connector!!! If you don't they might go BANG in your face.

*) Double check your work, triple check a mechanics work!

*) Take your time and take plenty of breaks, you do higher quality work when you don't rush.

Hire a baby sitter and take your lady to that special restaurant she likes so much. Tell her you love her, how much she means to you and how lost you would be without her!!!
 
On stereo installation, I find it helpful especially with a nav system, to assemble the wiring harness ahead of time in the house with a typical dvd nav system you have a ton of stuff to run, get a factory wiring harness adaptor and solder, heat shring and tie wrap everthing in the comfort of you house, if you have a 12v dc source, test it ahead of time. I used to use zip ties but now I use tech flex. 4 years ago, I made a video from a previous install, it will be updated if/when I decide to change my 4runner HU.

Get a garage.....

Preferably a 2 car. Gives you LOTS of room to work in.
Or bring your truck to the hangar, like I do, to work on it......

I've been using wire wrapping for almost 30 yrs, but never on a vehicle. Wire wrap is for 30 ga wire going around a specific size rigid post and is used for prototyping only, not for permanent use. It relies on friction to keep the wire in place on the posts and will not hold up to vibration and moisture.
 
In a reference to 1E's plan your mods..do sound deadening AFTER you do all the noisy mods (A/T Tires, roof rack mainly, since most of us actually like the sound of exhaust and intake or we wouldn't do them), that way when the significant other gets in the truck after it's been noisy she'll be amazed at how much quietER it is and won't mind riding in the truck...or so my logic goes...

Or you get one like mine that doesn't mind the modding truck :guitar3:(but I know she'll appreciate the sound deadening when I'm done)

When installing sound deadening to the insides of doors, liftgate, etc. temporarily wrap the edges of the holes you'll be reaching through in duct tape to prevent cuts to hands and arms.

Or cover your arms with duct tape - then you can skip applying it to all the panels....:trophy:
