Alright so ya'll are going back to the flanged bolts? I'm about to swap these in the next week and trying to figure out which bolts to buy. 2001 4wd. I know ya'll are saying bolt with washer but has it been decided the flange bolt is better? I'm more comfortable getting what came on it from the factory. Looking for advice, thanks.

Stick with the part that matches your LBJ. If you don't have the dust covers, then use the flange bolt and appropriate torque specs for that fastener. If you do have the dust covers use the bolt and washer and appropriate torque specs for that fastener.

Also keep in mind that if the torque requirements are given for a dry screw, then adding locking compounds to the threads may significantly increase the actual preload in the joint.

I will probably do mine with every timing belt. So 6 years or 90k miles by the book. I am on the originals at 202k, but this truck was garage kept and barely driven in the rain before I got it. There's barely a drop of grease to be found around the ball joints. I am going to change them when I do the Whiteline LCA bushings..

Great idea. T/B will be due next year, with a load of rubber hoses to replace, doing this won't be adding much to the work.
