If you're staying on pavement, I'd say a nice set of wheels should be first. The stock limited wheels with the 245 width tires look like pizza cutters IMO. MB Vortex wheels look similar to stock but are wider and improve the look I think. There are also guys here that have put 275 width tires on the stock 20s and that looks nice, but most of them that I've seen used all-terrains.

thanks for the continued thoughts. I didn't understand why I saw mentions of people swapping 20's for 17's. But after some reading, I guess you can get the tires to be about the same size. I always just figured the 20's would be bigger without a doubt. But some nice black wheels, nice road tires and maybe a 2-3" lift might be a nice start.

I would like to black out the chrome. Doing some reading up on that now.

One other surprise I came across last nite is that these trucks don't have HID headlights or any other LED lights other than the taillights. Being 2016, I thought that was pretty std across the board, especially on a LE model. Confused about that one.

Having a hot wife or girlfriend riding in it certainly enhances the look of the Runner. But that can be a VERY expensive add-on. [emoji6]

My personal opinion is that the aftermarket bolt-on grilles look cheap. They make your truck look like a rolling billboard for aisle 3 at AutoZone.

I like that one too minus the rivets around the border. I guess the difference is that Rigid Industries products ain't cheap!

Do a Spacer/Leveling kit
3" lift / leveling kit for FJ & 4Runner

Sell the Limited Rim/Tires and get some 18" with All-Terrain tires, the ride will still be good and you get a more aggresive look. Either make sure you get a rim with the correct back spacing or go with Spidertrax wheel spacers.

Ditch the Limited Running boards and buy some N-Fab Steps.

Since you are not wheeling none of this will hurt the truck in any way and it will improve your head turns 100 fold.

That's a nice look. I guess my #1 concern would be not drastically hurt the ride, cause this will be a daily driver. But yeah, that's real nice looking. Just a little different than stock but not over the top.

Some wheels, tires and a lift are the norm around here but I see a handful of 4Runners a day and they are all usually stock.

I go out of my way to keep mine looking as stock as possible. I set my suspension stock height - even though I have adjustable coilovers. Made my sliders as tight as possible and went matte black paint. I put the hidden winch on and even hid the fairlead with a flip license plate.

That said - I'd rock a set of retro 80's decals. I have a lot of projects in the queue but eventually I'll get to these. I'll toss a plotter head on the cnc and make some. I think someone on here was making some at one point, but I never saw them actually on a vehicle.

I think some roof racks look good too. If you want - but a big square piece of foam and put some green canvas over it. It'll look like a RTT.
