Mounting a winch?

I am a student who cannot afford a winch bumper. I am wondering if it is possible to mount a winch to my '96 with my stock bumper still on? I can find used winches for decent prices just not winch-mountable bumpers

If your handy with a welder it can be done: Winch with stock bumper

you could add/fab a front 2" receiver hitch and then use a winch cradle both front and rear...

I saw one of these the other day on a 4th gen didn't look to shabby I liked it for mounting to the stock bumper I was thinking of doing a rear mount like this on my 4th gen so it can be swapped onto my 1st gen because I am currently winch less on my 1st Gen and thats my trail rig
