MPG drop!

So I filled up my tank after putting on my 265/75/16 Duratracs on and I was really surprised. I had driven 237 miles when I filled up putting 16 gallons in the tank. 237/16=14.8!!!!!! Before putting on the tires I was getting ~18.75 MPG. Would the tires cause that big of a drop? I am taking into account that the circumference of the tire is a little bigger (not much) and that I've had the A/C running a little more for my pregnant wife but REALLY?

Maybe you are accelerating harder to make up for being a bit slower and causing wasted gas...

Edit: It could have been bad gas too.

You think bad gas could cause that big of a drop? Damn you Costco! Just cleaned the MAF and TB a few hundred miles ago. Gonna try putting a little sea foam in the tank...

Ok now that you say you cleaned maf and tb, there has been a consensus amongst some, myself included, that your Mpgs drop right after that.

Some think it is the computer.

Did you reset it after?

Heavier, slighty biggers tires = more power needed to turn them. therefore, more fuel used.

Come to think of it, I didn't. Are there write-ups on how this is done or does it just take time or the comp to re-equilibrate?

Pull your EFI fuse for about 30 min. then put back in...it'll take a few days to re-learn.

Miller is right, even simpler you can just disconnect negative battery terminal for the same amount of time.

Will disconnecting the battery reset the radio requiring a code to be entered? This used to happen on my wife's civic and I'm wondering if that is a possibility in the T4R.
