I did have the Apex, but didn't feel like hacking up my frame to install it. I ended up selling that when we got pack home, and used to money to buy my transmission.

Had a couple more items delivered over the weekend. All I'm waiting on is the roof rack at this point, and should have the on Thursday.

For your return trip you should come up to Seattle then head east on I-90 to Yakima, I-82 down to Union Gap then Hwy 97 South to Bend.

When you're in Bend, swing by CVT and swap that awning out for a 79" model. You'll thank me =p

From Bend head east on Hwy 20 til you hit I-84 then go wherever you want.

I though about getting a longer one, but I didn't think I was going to like the way it would look. Plus I only wanted to run a 3/4 rack, and didn't want 1/4 of the awning unsupported. It most likely would have been ok, but I didn't want to take the chance.

Most likely not this time around. In about 18 months we're going to hit the road for a year or two, and we're do plan on visiting Idaho then. I want to do some backpacking in the Sawtooth Mountains.

A couple weeks ago I decided to order a Prinsu Design roof rack, and a CVT awning to go with it. This weekend I was able to get everything mounted up, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Mounting was very straight forward for the rack, and only took me about 1 hour to install in it. The awning took almost as long since I had to mount it a little differently.

What does the rack look like from the front of the truck? It looks really wide, which I guess would be good for running a RTT up there.

I'm finally treating myself to some of my own links. I've been running a pair links that I made a while back; before I changed to the current design.



I also got my Ultra-Guage installed last night. I've been waiting to do this for quite some time now. It's really nice being able to know exactly what my mpg are.

This is the exact idea I have for the uniball UCA for the front. That rubber boot to keep dirt from building up on top.

Parts are starting to come in for my manual hub swap. I picked up some used Aisin manual hubs off eBay for $50. I did decided to buy all new OEM parts for the rest of the swap. I still have to get a few more parts, and that'll have to wait until after the New Year.

The route is set, and we leave on Wednesday. Nothing like a 5000+ mile road trip to end/start the year.

We won't be staying long anywhere, but this is a great scouting opportunity for the real deal in about 18 months.

We'll be stopping at Mojave, Sequoia, Yosemite, Big Trees, and Redwood while on our way to Portland. We're not 100% sure on the return trip home, but we'll most likely get it figured out. Most likely on New Years night after a lot of drinking.

While you're down in socal it's not too far off the beaten path to visit big bear or joshua tree national park. In fact there's a trail that connects the two and it's easy but very beautiful. You could do it in a subie. It's called the Lucerne valley trail.

Hey be aware i80 was closed indefinitely last week with no thoughts of when it would open again due to weather. Stay save and keep an eye on travel plans.
Also Idaho weather can get pretty bad so stay safe.

The route home is just an idea still. We may ending up heading back south to not have to mess with the snow going through Idaho, and Wyoming.
