My 96' SR5

Truck looks nice. You dont see many that color. In fact ive never seen one that color in person. Im not usually a fan of using bed liner on the flares, etc. But with the bumper and grill covered it looks complete. Looks pretty tuff and very unique

Finally got around to doing the Tacoma whip mod

Took the cheap chrome XD center caps off and painted the hubs black, looks so much better now.

Put in new black eagle eyes led tails with better 7w cree led reverse lights, smoked led 3rd brake light, 7w cree red led's in the license plate and 99+ clear corners and new clear turn signals with 5k DDM hid's in the headlights.

Pics are kinda crappy, only have my iphone 5 with me at the moment.

Haven't updated this in awhile so here goes....
- First I bought a supercharger used with 50k on it. Had new bearings pressed in the nose and bought a new viton seal from rolling performance, had the machine shop drill and tap a hole so I can change the oil from up top, new charger oil.

- Second was install URD 7th injector kit, pretty painless except for the fuel pump, I also got the plug 'n play URD harness so I could tap, splice and solder on a bench in the garage before plugging it all in. So worth it! Also had a Innovate MTX-L AFR gauge installed to monitor the AFR's.

- Third was find a sweet new to me center console lid. Been looking at my local junkyard forever for a decent condition one and never find any. Came upon a 4runner with this in it and snagged it. Guy said according to their database it came off a Tundra? I took my old mounting hardware off mine and fitted to this. So freaking nice and plush, perfect height and it's nice soft leather!

- Fourth was today I went to Summit Racing and picked up a Borla XR-1 #40942 and had a local shop install it. Had them run 2.5 in pipe off the cat all the way back. I'm in love with this thing, it replaced a Flowmaster piece of crap 40 series that was loud as all hell and had terrible in cabin drone. The Borla is super quiet compared to it and sounds incredibly good at higher RPM's. I'll be taking it back next week to have a stainless steel matte black 2.5 in ID 3.5 in OD tip welded on.

Those Red Runners are very rare. Them shiny Bilsteins look great. Nice truck. My CV's belched a little from installing the lift, dropping the truck, then doing the diff drop. Mine don't seem bad, but I'm keeping an eye on them. May be just them finding their happy new place. I stick with C rated tires, personally. If I ever decide to go up to the 285's I don't think there's much choice but E rated.

Dude, your runner looks killer. I love the wheels and tires. And the red and black looks cool, pretty unique on one of these.

afg, you're right, it's tough to find anything but an E rated 285 for a 16" wheel. There are a few D rated tires out there, but not many. Step up to a 17" wheel and things change quite a bit.

Wish I had a budget like yours! Love that supercharger, 5spd 4wd, color, muffler, and everything! My dream car right there. Keep up the great work!!:reddance:

Ya there's one other red one here in town but other than that I've never seen another in person, I've seen 2 on here other than mine I think. The bilsteins not only look good but ride very good, I love them. Once I lifted my cv's started leaking too, put better hose clamps on them but they eventually tore and I put 2 new napa cv's in, so far so good:) The E rated tires are a tad stiff but perfectly fine for me, not much options for this size.

Thanks Russ, it's definitely been a work in progress but I'm pretty happy with her atm. I do have some things I'd still like to do though, dynamic tensioner for the supercharger (I have the old style), 5% tint all the way around with a strip across the windshield, tundra brake upgrade once these wear out, red led's in the cluster and hvac controls and I'm sure I'll find many other things to do, it's never finished!!!!!

I have a limited budget but I found this supercharger locally very randomly while searching craigslist, scored it for $900 so I had to jump on it. Rebuilt the nose and got the URD goodies, so glad I did it. It actually has some get up and go now. 5 speed with a supercharger is fun for sure and the muffler is a million times better than the crap flowmaster I had on there.

I absolutely love the color man. And your build has been very cleanly and tastefully done. I like it. I like it a lot.

It's something you don't see much, but the paint needs a freshen up for sure. That's on the agenda this summer is to clay, wax and polish my ass off and get the color really shiny again. She's done me well, I snowboard my ass off in the winter and mountain bike a ton in the summer and she takes me anywhere I need to go. I've actually had a lot of people come up to me and comment on how clean it is. Thanks everyone for checking it out:)

You have the best color. :thumb3: Cardinal Red, only available in 1996. We need some sort of roll call thread for this color.

I like your mods, very clean build.

Took off all my flares, gave her a wash and a clay session, she's now sitting overnight with some meguiars #7 soaking in. I'll wipe it off tomorrow then reapply some #7 again and let sit overnight. Then I'll seal it all up with some meguiars nxt tech wax. My color looks soooo good when its shiny and clean and I haven't showed the paint any love for a very long time. Hoping this turns out well. I'll post some afters once she's all shiny again!

All put back together after the marathon wax session I had, jesus that was rough. Hopefully this lasts a few months!

Thanks man! Ya my truck got broken into while I was snowboarding and they completely shattered my driver side front door handle. So I went to the junkyard and snagged 4 black ones and reused my red handles. Matches the scheme I got going:)

Ah that sucks, I know how that goes. POS people breaking into cars.

But yeah, I really like it. Very subtle. If I come up on some black door handles I might just give it a shot.

Ya the only thing I'm thankful for from that experience was that they knew exactly what they were doing. They broke the key core, popped the hood, cut alarm wire, disconnected + terminal on battery, then unscrewed and unplugged everything. Nice and clean no ripping stuff out which was nice because all I had to fix was my door handle. I'm really surprised nobody saw it though, crowded parking lot at a very popular ski resort. They must have had a few dudes or something. That's why I roll with no sub anymore, don't want to deal with break ins. I think eventually I'll put a JL stealthbox in though, I miss my bass but don't want it to take up much space.

Hey Dinabox, I love what you have done to your runner it looks sick! I've been wanting to bedliner my front and rear bumpers to really set off my black and green theme i have going. I wanted to get that rough, crinkle finish similar to what you have. Which bedliner did you use? and how did you apply it? do you have any pics or tips/suggestions? Thanks!

I had them sprayed by a local shop with rhino lining so I don't have any tips on a DIY project. I say go for it though, it gives it a tough, rugged look and it's super easy to clean and maintain! Thanks for the kind words on my ride too!
