1 st get it running, the engine started knocking, then I'll start making it a mountain truck. Got it for $800 + $100 for a salvage topper. Seems like a good host vehicle, just want it running now.
 
Well if your willing to tow it up to grand junction, CO. I know of a great toyota mechanic if your not wanting to do the work, he has a graveyard of close to 100 land cruisers, 4runners and trucks. What type of engine gears etc etc
 
That's good to know. Luckily the guy I bought it from is mech. and he's going to get it going. sInce I wasn't even home yet when it started knocking and loss of power. I'm thinking of eventually a rebuild or swap , it's 22re stock right now. I just found an 88 truck with some glass and crank windows to get some things off of. I like the truck it's bet up but seems solid where it counts. I also have a 97 that is strong runner
 
if you have a 22re i would just get that rebuilt. those engines are awesome. put a little extra cash and get some decent headers, exhaust and cold air intake
