My Budget retrofit build !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi my friends, i just like to share my retrofit build. This was a budget build that only cost me less than $200, yes my friends u can make your own retrofit for only $200. I start with a set or 2000 headlights from Certifit (Certifit Online - Replacement Headlamp Assembly Driver Side for 1999,99,2000,00,2001,01,2002,02,TOYOTA,4RUNNER & Certifit Online - Replacement Headlamp Assembly Passenger Side for 1999,99,2000,00,2001,01,2002,02,TOYOTA,4RUNNER ) I will post pictures of the process. I remove the glass lense by heatin the headlights on my wife oven (curful, my wife was mad) at 250 F for 5 to 8 min, after I remove the lense I paint the reflector Flat Black but thats optional if u like to paint the reflector, I just like them that way. I wait 24H to dry to install the retrofit kit that i found at Ebay ( H4 9003 HB2 G3 Bixenon HID Projector - 6000k 6k / White | eBay ) This is the G3 retrofit kit but i install the G5, i got the last set for now, very recomended seller. the installation was very easy, after that u have to get your glass lense & reflector on the oven for 5 to 8 min at 250 F to reattach the lense with the housing. Next just install them on your 3rd gen 4Runner make some adjustments & make the diference :reddance: OK lets see the results on my NEW $200 retrofit kit with Hallo parking lights :lookout: Any question just post here or PM me......

U need 2 HID Ballast to complete this build, u can find then at Ebay very cheap!!!!!!

What are you doing about the side marking lights? With the headlight housing blacked out they might look a little goofy

About the corners I will open them & paint them black with and use LEDs, that will be on my next weekend. I will take & post some pictures in the morning from the front end. This is the Ballast I am using from DDM ( HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning) U can buy just the ballast but I used the bulbs on my Scion tC . Don't use the Ebay ballast, they r no good

I know some people frown upon DDM, but I have used them for a few years and several sets later I am completely happy with their product.

Of course the only negative thing (Which really is okay as long as you are patient)would be that they no longer ship from Calif. They ship their stuff from Overseas...

Careful, this is a NIGHTMARE to do. I cracked the sh*t outta mine when I tried to do it! If I did it again, I would use more heat...

u should got some better projectors with that money, if u swapped to some morimoto mini h1 or fx-r projectors, its way better than what you have bought.

My friend, the BiXenon cost me $90. the Morimoto MINI H1 cost almost $300. The title of my thread is: MY BUDGET BUILD, for less that $200 i have a complete BUDGET retrofit & a very respectable light output. This projectors may not be Morimoto's but they work pretty good. OK lets do something, I like to see other members Retrofit projects, price estimate & brands

Very very nice. I love the cost/effect ratio here. This really makes me consider doing the same thing. If i can find a cheap set of used lamps on craigslist...hmmm..

A writeup on this would be great. Once again, great job. How do they perform compared to the stock halogen lamps? Im dying for a better view at night on the backroads here.

My friend, for $48 headlights at Certifit I will not buy a used ones. There is a BIG diference betwin the halogen & the HID Bixenon's, I will drive in some backroads leter this weekend to get some pictires from the HI & LOW. Not the best picture but u can have an idea:

im just saying, if u did swap out to some other projectors, u might like them better . headlights are a safety factor to me and i want to use the best products when possible. i like flat cutoff compared to a flared cutoff.

I got a couple sets from Matt at TRS Comes out to around $250-$275 for everything to do the swap plus $50-$75 for a brand new set of aftermarket glass headlights.
