My favorite thing about the 4Runner is the resale value. One of several considerations before purchasing was resale value since this vehicle was a departure from the type of suv,s I've owned in the past. I figured i would get hurt less with this than a lot of vehicles. Well, I never set out to sell it after 17 months and 15,000 miles but after a few weeks of shopping and negotiating, I was able to get three different dealers to agree to $39k against the purchase of a new used suv, all of which were being purchased at kbb trade in value. in other words, not a bunch of meat on the new vehicle to justify top dollar on my 4Runner, the runner simply has terrific resale value. All three dealers independently came up with 39k after some encouragement from me, but supported by auction sales that confirmed they could get 39-40k for my vehicle, a 2015 limited blizzard pearl 4x4. Kinda crazy given the small premium it takes to get a new one but that's the way it is and that's also why I purchased new, something I don't often do.
In my case, I got an especially good deal on the vehicle when I purchased it new, I just pulled my receipt and it was $43,585 Otd. After my tax credit on the trade, I effectively got $41,535 back on my orig purchase, which means I lost $2050 over the 17 mos I drove it. I have done very well on many cars in the past but nothing tops this.
Some with be nah Sayers, always plenty on this board but something I'm good at is finance and numbers. I got a terrific buy on my new vehicle and did exceptionally well on the Toyota. Today was a great day.
