My new 4Runner... With 16" wheels (gasp!)

I picked it up Saturday after placing the order April 19th. Paid $21 under invoice, not bad for a special order. It's a bit different than your average 4x4 SR5 V8 in that it has no sunroof and no options other than floormats, roof rack, EC compass mirror and leather wrapped steering wheel / shift knob. Why the 16s? Mostly for ride comfort over the horrible roads where I live. Also tire choice seems to be a little better with 16s. Handling seems to be no different than the 17" eqipped 4Runner I test drove. I suppose I'd have to drive them hard back to back to really tell if there is no handling difference. Anyway, here's a pic...

Your car reminds me of mine when I first got it. I had the 16" wheels too, but bought a set of 17".

You are going to love your new 4runner. Have had 4 4runners and 2 Landcruisers and my new one is by far the best. I too ordered one just the way I wanted and it is very similar to yours...same color, no sunroof, floor mats, roof rack, spoiler and 16 " wheels which I wanted for off road use and Alaska's potholes. IMO the 17's are better for paved roads but the 16's are great offroad (more sidewall). The money saved by ordering and not getting extra options I didn't want, paid for the V8 upgrade.

Looks nice! I'm thinking about making the plunge for an 04 as well. My problem is I like the sport, but want a 3rd row, and 16's. It might be time to build an SR5. I've had 3 SR5s anyway, why not make it 4.

Nice 4Runner. I love the Pacific Blue. You configured it smartly. You got the options that are useful and not a waste of money. Good luck with it.
