My new ride 00' Limited

Well I picked it up last night, so far so good. 00' Limited w/e-locker. Only issues so far are a shimmy in the steering wheel, and a broken rear wiper arm. Truck has 115k on it and was traded in by the original owner (in his 70's) along with a super mint 94' Supra turbo...I plan to do the basics, lof, air filter, an inspection below, and then try to solve one major problem

I have a weird back problem that makes sitting in certain cars rough. When I test drove this, all was good, but last night, it was a rough ride with a lot of pain. I am going to have to change the drivers seat to something else or who knows... Anyway here are some pics, really happy with it!

I have a 00' Limited and would have to say that the seats are not the most comfortable one ive sat in. I really liked my IS300 seats when I had it Hmmm... lol. But super nice find that thing is clean as hell. E-locker is always a plus. Make sure it works before you ever really need it.

I remember when mine looked just like yours! Hopefully you get the seat issues sorted out and can really enjoy it.

Thanks! Yeah, that's a great observation and the kind of idea I am looking for; I may try to sit in a Lexus or other seat (like a manual sport seat) and see if its better. Its a nightmare, not to get too personal, but it causes nerve pain making it feel like you are getting kicked in the nuts- just great!) I thought the limited with the power seats would be better, but guess not....

Yeah, its real clean. Its a little mushy, excessive bounce, especially in the rear so I think I may do new shocks in conjunction with 99 HL springs to start a build on it...

Yea I would suggest replacing the shocks im sure its never been done and that will limit the rebound causing the bouncy feeling to disappear.

yeah, I think I am going to do the springs and shocks all in one shot. I haven't even gone over the truck yet so I really want to get it on a lift and take a look at everything and go from there...I think I will spend some time on here researching decent shocks and go from there...

Thanks man, yeah I have been searching for over a year all over the country and out of nowhere found this one right down the street...crazy. I paid $8900 plus the 6% tax and then the dealer slammed me at the time of sale for a $500 fee. I was pissed about that, but still was really happy with the price. I am curious whether everyone here thinks it was a good deal. Personally I think I stole it. There is one ding on the hood and a slight rub/indent on the rear bumper, but aside from that I can't find anything, not a single mark on the body. Real slight surface rust on the hitch, but the engine area is spotless, no leaks, nada...There is a shimmy only in the steering wheel at highway speeds I need to address and I think the rear shocks are worn, but no sagging at all....Man I am psyched...

Oh and I went nuts today to solve my seat issue- I literally cant sit in it for more than 20 minutes before my back is in agony so I traded some steps toward a build for needed seats. I will post a thread on the install as soon as I get them next week!

The supra the original owner traded in was just as nice, like it just rolled off the showroom floor...Thanks again and let me know your thoughts!

I saw a '00 Limited exactly like yours last year with 95,000 miles go for $10,000 private party. If you got it for that price at a dealership, I'd say it was decent.

4yotaguy - I'm guessing you have tried but if not you should be able to adjust the lumbar support in the seat and make it more comfortable. If I have mine adjusted 'wrong' it causes me some serious discomfort. :deadhorse:

every area seems to be different with prices for these trucks , here in the northeast it is very hard to find a clean ,rust free ,low mile truck . i looked for 6 months before i found one 10 hours away .

if you are happy with your truck and the price you paid for it then you got a good deal.

Yeah, Its more of a general whole seat issue. Hard to describe, I have a nerve problem that runs from my back into the hips and leg. There are certain chairs that just dont work and Lexus/Toyota seats (power) from that era appear to be some of them. I am still trying some support ideas, but dropped coin on seats yesterday...bummer, but if it works I'll be happy thanks@!

Yeah, I am afraid mine is going to look like this for a while. I wanted to go all out asap, but buying the seats wasnt cheap and I want to solve any basic issues first...then once I have worn these tire out some more, rims and tires, sliders, armour, the works but still usable for a daily driver...

I will be interested to learn what you bought and how it works out. I've got concerns that eventually my seat won't be comfortable any more and have searched on it before and not yet seen a mod that seems like a sure fire solution.

Nice! Yours looks great, I like the height. Mind if I aske what suspension you are running? I am looking to do something relatively mild down the road, maybe 99 Highlander springs with new shocks, just enough so a set of more aggressive tires sit better...

that is a extremely rare truck!
