My slow build thread

So it took months of research (thanks T4R) to figure out what model 4runner to get. I was sold on the 4th gen as my wife had a 2004 SR5 before our family outgrew it and we traded it in for a Sequoia. I enjoyed that car immensely and I am not a huge fan of the 5th gen.

The vast knowledge on this forum made me realize I wanted a 4th gen post 2005 when a lot of the exterior changes occurred (as well as Toyota120.com).

After searching in LA and TX, I finally came across a 2006 SR5 4WD with 90,000 miles. It was extremely well taken care of and as soon as I test drove it, I was sold.

Of course, as I found valuable information in this site, I also quickly caught the MOD bug. I am interested in conservative modifications so this thread is dedicated to those MODs as I install them. My first modification is a DayStar 2.5 / 1.5 with Spidertrax and 255 75 17 tires. I ordered the Spidertrax today and I plan on purchasing the tires and lift next week.

Here is how she looks today, in all her stock glory (sorry for the cell phone pic). I'll post updates and pics as they occur.

Looks good! I'm excited to see the progress and what mods you end up doing...I'm looking for some simpler mods to begin with as well.

Thanks! I will post pictures as soon as I have them available. There are so many options and the pictures posted on this forum have definitely helped me decide what I want to do. I'm excited to pay it forward

Just ordered tires and Spidertrax!

I went with Firestone Destination ATs - LT 255 75 17. Tire Rack has a distribution warehouse in Shreveport so I'm able to pick them up and save on shipping

Also, ordered the digital fit Weathertech floor mats! I plan on putting everything together in a couple of weeks so I'll post pictures.

Nice Looking 4Runner I'm looking for a 4th Gen right now in the Ruston area have a local guy who just went to an auction ready to see if he came back with anything! What spidertrax did you get?

Good luck with your search! I went with the 1.25 spacers. I believe spidertrax only makes one size for 4runners. Mine are scheduled to arrive on Wednesday :)

Tires!

I picked up my tires today - went with Firestone Destination ATs 255 75 17.

I like the fact that there is a TireRack distribution warehouse down the street.

OME Lift Ordered

I finally ordered the OME lift I've been putting off for a long time to replace my Day Star 2.5 1.5.

Hope to install it before Christmas. Toytec includes a trim packer to adjust for any lean but I'm still debating whether I should keep my rear driver's side day star spacer. Any advice? Thanks!

Did you go with the AB or C load Destinations? I've had mine about a month now...second set, but first on this runner, and I'm loving them.

I have the LT version so they are load C. Great tires.. Quiet, lightweight and the skinnys are fine if you can push them out with spidertrax.
