Dont know if you would be interested but this summer i wanted to do the trail that goes from greenwater to little naches. Its 60 miles. Maybe we can plan a trip and meet up at the top or start from either your side or my side

Everywhere over here requires a pass i think. Elbe hills should still be open over here and so is tahuya. Elbe is pretty gnarly in some places tahuya is real tame in most spots with some rock gardens here and there, If you guys want to come out this way let me know and ill show you both places. I want some new places to go. I've been wanting to check out walker valley thats north of me

the naches pass trail. yeah, ive ran that a few times. its not too bad. we might be interesting in running that again, though mostly I winter wheel. fuggin hate mud...

Im not sure about Tahuya getting good snow. I do believe elbe gets snow. Im not sure how much. Probably not enough to bury your 42's. Elbe does have mud but its mostly shallow splash on your body mud although there are some deep mud holes in a few trails. I buried my 35's in a hole at elbe and that was when it was "dry". You would probably find tahuya boring its really easy wheeling. My wife drives when we go there. You would have wore fun at elbe. There is a ton of videos of both places on youtube. I have never been to walker valley. There is also straddleline which over here and i havent been there either

a few from last weekend.

this ended our night. even with bead locks, you can pop a bead.

I know there are a lot of people on this site that don't like Hi-Lift jacks for one reason or another. but without one, it would have made that job a LOT harder. as it was, it took about 30 minutes to get the 4runner winched out of the hole it was in, and the tire reseated. not too bad.

no updates really. I haven't been out much, and have been busy with other things. so I haven't done anything to the rigs, or done any wheeling.

I went on a run a few months ago in the 4runner, managed to dent the door, and peel the chrome trim off the rear fender, but alas... no pics. lol.

I shut the door, and the dent popped out, so "nothing to see here" haha.

welp, after 14 years of solid use, my BFG's are getting replaced.

I have had a couple flats the last couple years, sticks stabbing through the tread area.
but, this last weekend while up hunting, one of the tires developed a leak through some cracks in the upper sidewall.

14 years, about 65,000 miles, and still with about 40% tread, they served me well.

now, on to new, bigger and better things.

I stuck with what I know and like, I just went with newer and bigger.

I should know how badly they rub in a couple weeks.
I hope the other 3 tires will survive until then...

the tires showed up a few days ago, finally got them on today.

they look great, but I am not so sure about the wheels. hopefully they will grow on me..

though, sadly, being 17's, they are only 9" wide, and come with a terrible 4.5" BS. I will have to run wheel spacers, as I lost almost 4" of track width with these wheels, and they rub on the springs when I go full lock...

initially I thought, "oh they wont be that much bigger than my 35's.."

yeah, side by side, they are a solid 2" bigger.
I measured the fender before and after, it lifted a full inch.

I don't think these wheels are going to work.

they rub the springs on full lock in the front. in the rear, the overload is kicked out to the side slightly, and was just touching the tire. but even without that, they are VERY close to the spring clamps, and the frame itself.
so at minimum I will need 2" spacers. or new wheels.

I did finally find some wheels with the correct specs, they are $800 more than what I already paid for these. plus mount/balance. damnit!
and they are bead locks. I don't want BL's on this rig.



anybody want to buy some wheels? lol.

yeh, im pretty happy with how it turned out too. though, its not quite as useful as the old bed, it does look better, and gives me a bit more clearance for the 42's.

got out for the first time this winter. much less snow than last year.
it was me, and a handful of jeeps. man, I need to find some people with Toyotas to wheel with!

there were several smaller, less equipped rigs. I guess it was OK though, since the snow wasn't all that deep.
though, several of them still struggled to follow my tracks, and had to turn back early.

one even missed a turn, and drove straight off the road. it wasn't really and edge, but enough that we had to winch him back onto the road.



top of the mtn. I was up there for at least 5 minutes before anyone else showed up.

one of the more well equipped jeeps up there. LSD rear, and Spartan in the front, on 35 MTR kevlars.

then, this basically stock GC made it up. very surprising. he was on 31's.

hm, seems I didn't get any pics of where he(not HIM^^) went off the road.
I did get some video, but haven't processed it yet.


it did get deep a bit further up, but the snow was crap. not quite sugar, but pretty terrible. it was very cold, so no moisture or traction. it required high wheel speed to just churn through. I need more power...

last week I finally applied for my vintage plates. sweet!
I wont have to pay for registration ever again.

it was pretty nice to hear her say, "here, sign your last registration ever!"

oh, she did say I should probably buy a new registration every 5 years. to keep the vehicle active in the system. I guess the system with automatically drop them after so many years. its $10 for a registration. so $10 every 5 years. not bad at all.


I just did my truck too! its going to save me a ton of cash. also, not having to remember to keep things up to date. with 5 rigs, and 2 trailers, I have a hard time keeping up with it all. lol.
