Mystery squeak solved

So for the last month, I've had this annoying squeak that seemed to be coming from the dash by the passenger vent. Tried everything, the glove box, the door panel, the sill plate and kick panel, the vent, the dash by the window, the center console even...etc.

Nothing worked—the squeak still "squoke" every dang time I was cruising or made a left turn. Never when braking or accelerating or making right turns.

Was starting to drive me mad! I began contemplating tearing the dash apart just for that one damn squeak.

Then, while riding shotgun with the wife driving (was under the influence....of uh...green stuff) I was sorta absentmindedly honing in on the squeak when I was suddenly stuck by a moment of perfect audio/visual clarity.

As my ears discerned the squeak—my eyes just happen to catch movement out the window....the mother-effing antenna was loose and moving ever so slightly and causing the squeak! I couldn't believe I had caught that!

It had never occurred to me that the obnoxious squeak could have been from something outside. I was convinced it was in the dash the whole time!

A permanent repair will be made soon.

For anyone else with a "squeaky dash" by the passenger door, perhaps check that the antenna mast as well as the motor, are secured.

Glad you found it

yeah i had a 'creeking' noise once inside also, turned out it was the GF closing her vent causing the noise. Women - you can't live with them and you can't live with them.
