I am planning to navigate around in Canada. Does the gps system in the premium level have Canada maps? I try to avoid roaming data for gps use.

Pretty sure the Navigation covers both countries. Test it out. You should be able to change country and "change state" to change provinces. You can also change the unit of measurement from miles to kilometres if you wish. If yours is voice activated, it should be pretty straightforward.

I just got back from Canada and had no issues with navigation maps. You can also download offline maps for use with your cellphone so it does not need data access but can still use the gps.

You should just need to switch it to Canada. I drive there all the time and route places.

To test it try to set destination to a Canadian address and see what happens : )

Navigating in Canada will take some getting used to. First, all the voice directions will end with "eh". Second, no matter where you set the destination to in the nav system it'll direct you to a cold beer store or hockey rink. Also your vehicle icon on the screen will change colours to a nice red lumberjack plaid. Please remember that all speed limit signs are in km/h and not mph.
