Need advice Which Mobil One oil are you running?

In the US, Toyota Care provides free scheduled maintenance for the first two years or 25,000 miles at your Toyota dealer. Thus you don't need to worry about what oil you should use for two years.
Yes, I know, but can I trust them not to go torque wrench crazy on my skid plate, oil filter, drain plug etc. Besides I want to change my oil every 5000 not the 10,000 that goes along with Toyota care. If I change it myself I'll know what gets torqued to specs.

To actually answer your question, I’ve used both the Advanced Fuel Economy and the High Mileage versions of Mobil 1. I’ve even used both together when I was short of one type. Like others said, I don’t think it matters.

Toyota synthetic is made by Mobil 1.

Yes, but better formula than than Mobil 1. Strange Mobil did this. I used to always use Mobil 1.

Most important is changing the oil at the appropriate milage. That and don't forget to add oil to the filter before install.

Any off the shelf oil of the correct viscosity works just fine.

Its not odd at all. Manufacturers commonly do private label toll manufacturing to a customers specs. Mobil has the machinery and Toyota provides a formula of what they want and Mobil makes it. This has no bearing on how good or how bad Mobil 1 oil is in comparison to various different toll grades they make, some are better and some are likely worse.

Where'd you get the sweet funnel? Does that lock onto the filler neck?
Also, I use Mobil1 0-20W Advanced Synthetic on a 8-10k OCI. At 71k miles and no issues.

That guy is great. But the Mobil1 version for Toyota is completely different formula made specifically for Toyota to their spec.

I've been using Mobil1 Advanced Fuel economy for a long time in various types of vehicles. I currently run it in my 4R, 0W20 as recommended. When I got the 4R from new, I drove on its original oil and changed it out at 1,865kms just to get rid of the oil they put in from factory and to clear up any deposits.
The dealer did tell me that they do start up the engines at the factory, make sure its all well, and then replace the oil again before shipping out the truck. So basically I didn't have to change it so soon, but piece of mind and I plan to run this truck for a longgggg time. Going forward I think I'll change it every 5-6000kms or so, see in what condition it's in at that point.

You do not have to convince me that Mobil 1 is no good. Use whatever you want.
