Need exhaust system -Question

My 1998 2WD 4Runner needs a new exhaust system. Do I have to replace the cad converter or can that be salvaged and placed on new system?

Depends on why you need to replace your system. has it fallen off? rusted through? Depending on where you live it might be beneficial if the cat is removed.

Unless it's damaged it could certainly be salvaged. I too would be interesting in some additional information as to what you are hoping to accomplish by replacing the exhaust system.

I looked at a lot of options when replacing mine but ultimately settled on just replacing from the muffler on back because of the $/hp ratio and not being able to get away from having a cat due to passing emissions.
