need help opening rear hatch.

I painted the rear chrome on my rear hatch and took it out in the process but I totally forgot to reconnect the electronics for the rear hatch when I put it back together and now it wont open :redbrick: any ideas or tricks to get to open it without causing much damage?

there is a panel on the inside to pull off that gives access to the door innards. IIRC it's in the owners manual or the FSM...
