I'm at the early stages of planning a lift on my 2012 SR5. Unlike most people I can admit that I am doing it mostly for looks. I rarely go off road, when I do it is only to go visit my dad up on top of a hill at the cemetery. With that said, what route should I go?
I don't want a big lift, just enough to fit some KO2 275/70x17's and have a little wheel well left over. I'm thinking 2 1/2" to 3" in the front and 1" to 2" in the rear.
I was originally planning on going with spacers but it seems like a lot of people are unhappy going that route. So, I am now leaning towards springs. Is there much difference between different brands? Also, with lift springs in the back will airbags still work when I am hauling a trailer?
Last but not least, with a small lift like I am planning will I need the rear differential drop kit?
Please forgive my ignorance, this is the first vehicle I have ever lifted.
* edit - coilovers are currently out of my budget.
