Need to decide on a Bull Bar

Hi crew.

I want to get a bull bar for my 08 Sport Edition V8. It has the powder coated tube rails and roof rack. Ive done some homework here and ive come to narrow my choice down to a Westin or a Steelworks.

Ive searched in the forums and ive read that the Westin's "wobble" or dont hold tightly (correctly if im wrong?) and it seems to be a popular gripe. I had a Smittybuilt on my old 4x4 and it would never stay tight and lean forward...pain in the rear.

The Steelworks has ceased the 4-point attachment and is now a 2-point (again, correct me).

I dont plan on putting lights on my bar, and I would prefer it to be powder coated to match my other oem hardware.

Can anyone throw some advice my way?

Here's some advise...... Forget the bull bar. Your truck looks great as is.

In 6 months you'll regret putting that thing on there. Guaranteed.

Im leaning towards that one as well. Do you have one? Your avatar doesnt have one, so thats why i ask.

I don't have one, but have almost pulled the trigger on one a couple of times.....Just can't justify it right now.

I don't think you would regret it at all. Search the forums and look at all the pics of the trucks with them on. They all look great. If you do get it and regret it.....let me know. I will buy it from you at a discount.....hahahha.

I just looked at pic of the Hunters, and its not really what im looking for.

I'm still leaning towards the Steelworks. Just dont want the wobble.
 
There is a thread on here somewhere where they were talking about that and fixes........now, just picture a bald guy, with horns sticking out of his head, sitting on your shoulder saying..."do it, buy it!"....lol

Your truck has a classic, clean look with plenty of sporty attributes already. The novelty of the bull bar will wear off and you'll want to remove it. It will look too busy.

As soon as it starts rusting (and you can be sure it will) you'll ditch it.

My freind has a chrome Westin for sale in new condition. Send me your email address if you are interested and I will have him get in touch with you so you can make him a offer. He is not a member here. He also has a lot of pictures.

I love my Steelcraft Bull Bar. It definitely enhances the look. I can't see it rusting out badly, but if it does it can be touched up easily. I also love the addition of my lights, but here are pics of my bar with and without.

Rockwall, that does look nice.

Does your bar wobble or clunk or anything like people have complained about in regards to the Westin ones?

Is it a 2-point bolt on or 4?

Steelcraft

I also have steelcraft bullbar. It connects at four places and is very sturdy. No wobbly at all. I stood on it to see if it gives ( am 200lb) but its solid. It has removable skid plate. Me likey...alot!

That looks NICE, man! You blacked-out your grille, so the powder coated bull bar looks perfect for yours.

You guys think I should go with the powder coat to somewhat-match the roof rack and step-bars? Or should i get te chrome to match my grille?

When I had decided on the SteelCraft, I was going to match it to the steps. May go with a bumper instead now.
