need your help.. very confused about tires

please excuse me as this is my first truck.. all my life i've been trying to go low with my s2000 and evolution x

now i'm trying to go high and searching and reading just added to my confusion.

i want to do a 2-3 inch lift .. but i'd like to keep my stock sr5 rims however i would like bigger tires..

1. is getting bigger tires on stock rims ok? or should i upgrade rims and tires together.. i like the looks of the stock rims

2. what size should i upgrade to on the stock rims for a 2-3 inch lift... i have spidertrax installed currently

3. please recommend some brands / models of tires that work good on road but offer more aggressive looks than the stock rubbers.. i don't really need extreme off road as this is my daily driver to work and what not

Hi im running 285 70 r17 bfg A/T on my stock wheels with the spidertax 1.25 spacers with 2.5 to 3.5 of front lift aprox. I was going through the same thing I think it looks great. I did have to adjust the plastic wheel well pieces so they didn't rub. I just removed the body mount covers on both sides (rear) and cut trimmed and cable tied the font plastic fender well forward. No rub now. I really wanted 285 75 tires but I'm glad I didn't for the sake of fitment. Good luck and I love my sr5 the way it looks with the stock wheels. Not to mention unless you spend huge dollars your not going to find the quality of the oem wheels.
