Need your opinion on this color scheme...

I agree with Fightman EXCEPT i wont do spacers!! i honestly do not feel safe with them! so those are out of the question...
If i did the pro comp 1079's (silver billets) with the 4in BS OR 7069's in black same BS!
uugghhhhh but damnit guys... i dont wanna change/paint my trim....so ****....what do i do??? keep white/grey trim with silver polished wheels OR white/grey trim with black wheels??

I'd go with the Polished Aluminum wheels, (since I've already got them! ha ha!), they clean up nice, and look pretty sweet. They also have good offset on them, so the tires stick out nice pass the fenders! (a plus in my books)

I find black rims on your rig wouldn't be the best setup, i don't mind them on black rigs, or even Silver trucks...but on white...I'd keep them light colored.

Another option, instead of silver and black, would be a Gunmetal Color like my winter set! In fact, the same exact color would look great with your color scheme, as I've seen a few white/silver 4Runners on here with the Gunmetal colored rims.



Honestly, if I were you, I'd bet some spidertrax spacers, paint your wheels gunmetal, and throw on those Bighorns...and call it a day! :)

thanks man! honestly i wont do spacers! dont feel safe with them what so ever! but i do agree with your color configuration! maybe i could do the silvers on the bighorns and powdercoat flat black the stock ones at my friends buisness??!!??

I have an excellent proposition for you. You sell me those ugly silver flares so I can have them painted and put on my truck. And I'll give you my sport flares plus some cash. Take a look at my flares in my photo album and see what you think. I actually have them in the classified section right now looking to trade for your style flare. They textured black looks good on white trucks, and then any color wheel would work. Though for a white truck I thing gunmetal/graphite is the way to go
 
I have stocker taco wheels on mine with 285's. Check out my build thread. I think the black wheels would look like too much is going on. I have always been a big fan of polished wheels and or silver wheels, black ones are tough to pull off and you already have 2 colors happening up top. My .02
 
If you really don't want to run spacers, you may have no choice but to go with the Procomps wheels. The stock wheels, won't likely allow you to run the 285's without rubbing the UCA's.

That being said, if you really have your heart set on buying new wheels, I'd go with the Procomp Polished wheels. That should look best with your color combo.

ok thanks!! alright black wheels are off the table now...so now to figure polished or gunmetal LOL im gonna go to that site discount tire and see what it looks like on my truck...
 
Ok so here is what it looks like w/ polished....not pro comps, they didnt have them on there...but the razors are very similiar....and also this pic doesnt show my trim on it...

I have a few thoughts to add. Personally, I didn't like my black wheels that I used to have on my white truck, they just look really plain to me. I don't like how the tire and wheel just run together and look like i piece in most low light situations..

Also, obviously I don't care if you run wheel spacers or not. But... considering I run them on a much, much heavier truck, with 35" tires, and seeing as though I've been running them for several years with no problems at all, you would be perfectly fine running spacers on yours. I'm sure you've read horror stories, but there are a lot of people that love to "review" things on the web with no experience (or they are using a low quality product and like to make that represent all the brands of that product).

If I can run them on my junk and can still go 80 mph on the freeway without any wierd vibrations, they will be totally safe on your truck. You just have to make sure you buy good quality, hub and lug centric spacers like Spidertax, Allpro, or Motorsport Tech. All the bad reviews and horror stories are on cheaper spacers that aren't hub and lug centric. Again, I don't care if you run em or not, just want to try to dispell some of the unnecessary, bad stigma about them.

Ok varunnerchick, now see how awesome brians runner looks in the first picture with the black sr5 flares?? Those are the exact flares that Im trying to sell you in exchange for yours. Isnt that a good proposition?? I'll even throw in some extra $!!

Brian I think yours would also look really good with graphite/gunmetal. My rims would probably look better on your truck than on mine
 
Check out this build thread. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/100648-bcvanni514s-build-thread.html He has the same color scheme and black wheels. I think it looks fine with the black, silver and white. Obviously it would look awesome with black flares and cladding, but not unbearable. The white and silver are light colors so it doesn't stand out as much. At least you don't have a red body, topaz flares, bumpers and cladding and black wheels like me. I can't stand my bumper and flare color and will be changing it in the future.
