New 06 owner checking in

My poor little 04 2wd single cab Tacoma got totaled by the insurance company late last week. In reviewing my wants and needs for another vehicle I selected 4runner and found a nice silver 06 Limited with 63k for below kbb.com private party value at a local dealership. It's a v8 model with fulltime 4wd (AWD?). So far I am highly satisfied with it and am trying to learn about all the bells and whistles. I hope to become a regular here and learn all I can about the 4th gen 4runner.

Good choice, silver is my favorite color.

and great choice! I just recently (end of Oct) bought an 06 Limited V8 with 65K miles, loving it and I'm sure you will too.

Do you have any records of maintenance? If not Id start base lining fluids.

Oil/Filter
Air Filter
Cabin Filter
Diff Fluid

Everything else should be fine.

Welcome to the forum! You'll discover a lot of great information here! I picked up my '06 with 67k miles and love it... it still feels new!

I agree with the comments above... new fluids and filters throughout.

Trans is fine until 100k. At that point a complete fluid exchange is what I would recommend. Get all the old fluid out without the problems that a flush might cause.

Its $$$ though.
