New 2014 4Runner-Base TE!

A year ago, I picked up a 2005 T4R. After a year of simple improvements, decided to go for a new one. Sold the 05 to my nephew who is on cloud 9 and took delivery Friday on a 2014 Magnetic Gray Base TE with upgraded sound system. Already started and here is list of improvements planned.

1. Michelin LTX MS2
2. Replace all swaybar components with Urethane bushings
3. Bilstein 5100's all four corners
4. Spidetrax spacer all four corners
5. Borla Cat-Back single exit.

I use the truck to commute and weekend warriors. Based on learning and fun with the 05, this is a great base start for me.

Yesterday, took the 2014 on 1st trip. Mixed driving, temps at 28 degrees with some 4WD drive, posted 1st tank at 18.8 MPG.

Congrats.. Can't comment on the other mods but if you like a smooth, quiet ride those LTX MS2's are excellent.

Thanks, had TRD Cat-Back on the 05 4.0 liter. It was an 18" muffler and droned some between 40-50MPH. The Borla is a 22" muffler-fact is you will definitely have noise increase over base unit.

One thing I did notice is the 14 vs. 05 has much more sound proofing so much quieter.

Congrats !! got my '14 Barcelona Red TE a week ago optioned just like yours. Debating on the tire change that HAS to be done to replace the Dunlop Grancraps. I don't understand why Toyota would put such a tire on a rig like ours. You can't go wrong with the MS2, high quality tire, good choice for a daily driver. Enjoy your ride.

Urethane bushings do not compress like rubber so the affect is to transmit the energy from the car body roll (leaning) directly into the bar allowing it to work immediately to assist and counteracting body roll. With OEM rubber bushings, the rubber compresses delaying the counteracting force to body roll from the Sway Bar

I did this on my O5 T4R and worked very well. Used Energy Suspension components, general type kit bushings. Ordered the kits with the grease Zerks and general bar end link bushings. At same time, I put on all four corners, Spidetrax spacers, Bilstein 5100's and replaced the sway bar rubber with urethane bushing. The affect was amazing as T4R became noticeably flatter in turns. Mind you, it will never be a sports car, but the change was immediately noticeable. In high winds, became less prone to gusts pushing it around.
