ok, so I installed a new a/c compressor, have yet to re-charge the system, but when I start it up there is a very loud squeling noise. I do not have the a/c on while I am doing this.

Did you change the serpentine belt also? Did the old A/C compressor seize up? Did you inspect belt tension?

well now the squeling is gone but the a/c light is flashing still and it will stop blowing cold air for a minute, after i played around with the reset button it started blowing cold again but i dont know if there is still a problem or not. I pulled a vacuum on it and recharged the system prior to all this so i have fresh coolant in there since the compressor replacement. the a/c light is a slow blink if that helps at all.
