Kliv, please let me know when you have updates on the mod. I really need one as I too got a little butthole pucker when my truck stopped when pulling onto a road here in NC. thank you for all of your help and dedication.

I've got one for sale that I bought from Kliv a few months ago, installed, and removed from my 4runner. It works perfectly but I decided to go a different route (disabling all the electronic nannies including ABS).

The unit is exactly as I got it, with the exception of a few wires being slightly shorter than original due to being cut during removal. Almost all should be long enough regardless but you may need to extend one or two of them. Comes with the test light, and I'm also including 4 female terminals and wires which can be used to hook up an "FJ" style Trac Off switch. Please PM me if interested.

Almost resolved the issue with an old producer. Waiting for the plates from the new one - will keep everyone posted once it is ready and tested.

Add me to the purchase queue. Reading the instructions, it appears the end result to disable VSC is to ground the red/blue wire on pin 22 of the 4WD ECU. Is that correct? I understand the rest of the logic of the device is to make it safer to use and to enable the proper lights.
The electrical engineer in me was trying to draw out the logic of the device and map it to the FSM diagrams.

Would an on-off switch work instead of the VSC switch from an FJ? Something like this... CH4x4 Toyota Push Switch VSC Symbol

Yes, you are quite right.

It will work with any momentum button (no slipping). You can even have 2 open wires and switch the unit connecting these for half a second.

Perhaps someone who has installed the kit can help me out here. I have a 2004 4Runner, and am going through the instructions but do not fully understand the "skid control computer" vs the "4WD computer"

I have a 4WD computer on the passenger side, that has the red/blue wire as shown in step 19B, but the directions make it seem as if I am supposed to look for a "Skid control computer" in the driver footwell.

Anyone have any clarification?

For 2004 year you can either use 19A or 19B. You've got both options available as both ECUs are inside the truck. Just choose the most convenient for you. The wire goes from 3rd pin of Skid Control Ecu to 22nd pin of 4WD Control Ecu, so, you can tap into it on any side.

Finally, some good news guys. I found new manufacturer with reasonable quality and placed the order for plates. Once it's done, will assemble components and test.
