Snake oil ??

I would argue with you about this, but after skimming this thread I know it would just be a waste of my time.

Sure Sure Blair,

Unless your going to take a sample of this grease and inspect it or use it in some manner and say Hey Rix it works okay,

You are a waste of time and already just posted up crap, useless, Rixxer needs out,

Oh boy,

I just think you have a very strong misconception of what "Toyota Sales" is and its motives.

But what do I know? I only work for them.

Okay Flushed one out, awesome, So what part of Toyota sales do you specialize in writing books for the techs,, or telling folks what they already know Toyotas a good rigs,, kinda like, selling beer @ a logging camp,...???? by selling them rigs,

You know I had you weasel dirtbag sales clowns pegged from day one when a service manger posted on mush, and stated that this axle used modern Cv joint grease,

Called him on the phone and chatted, dropped his post on Mud, hid,

Bring it sales clown

Whoa, getting pretty personal. I don't know much about grease and every solid axle vehicle is well before my time there. Just saying Toyota is not some evil company trying to screw people over. Leaving it at that.

Good,

Whoa, getting pretty personal. I don't know much about grease and every solid axle vehicle is well before my time there. Just saying Toyota is not some evil company trying to screw people over. Leaving it at that.

Now Blair, Be sure to understand that not all Toyota sales guys are dirtbags, and not all of the individuals that promote this dis-information are even aware, this can be just as effective, but thereare, thereis a few select "Illuminate" we will call them and intentionally baffle with BS,

Toyota production is a good company build great stuff, Toyota sales in general may be just fine, aside from the select Sales engineers that knowingly spec a incompatible grease, and post this Black propaganda @ will in Mushroom Factories Such as Mud, Pirate, Yota tech,

It is some ways the epitome of Evil Incarnate to dupe a poor hard working grease monkey about a basic aspect of the trade, allow him to think it is a seal failure issue, and indicate to add a incompatible grease that further expounds the appearance of seal failure by puking oil out of the grease, out the wiper, hub dial, lower trunnion cap,

so Blair, Understood, not the sales guy out on the floor just selling rigs, but corporate upper "Illuminate"

Classic, but good on you for sticking up for them weasels, honorable in a way I spose, but it aint gonna help them,

So let me define Sales Engineering, or give a little quip here

"Thus, customers weigh the advice of sales engineers with a predisposition of "caveat emptor". Nevertheless, sales engineers do usually provide real value to customers, which is why the relationship endures despite the perennial taking of a "grain of salt"."

Sales engineers do "Usually" provide a real value, but in this case "Caveat emptor" of buyer or in Rix case Student, "Beware"

It is a grain of salt Rixxer, you cling to a grain of salt

Misconception of Toyota sales,

I just think you have a very strong misconception of what "Toyota Sales" is and its motives.

But what do I know? I only work for them.

Okay Blair,
Sure, I am all confused about Toyota sales viewing this #0 grease from production as outdated,

So help me out here, the only answers I have received from Toyota Sales or information services was that #1 this Grease is "Private"

#2 It is a "Moly based grease" ( dont exist other than in make believe Toyota land)

So need some better answers, So step up help Rixxer out if your not a dirtbag and get him some answers,
He also wants to know what that green grease is,

So I emailed this guy,

[Offline] Frank Dunphy to fj80toymaker

show details 12/19/10

Hi Dan,

My name is Frank Dunphy, I have been researching a subject for a couple of years now about grease for the enclosed steering axle for Toyota rigs, I sent Bill Burke a e-mail and brought him up to speed on what I am working on and he said to run this by you,

Now what I have found that factory fill is a semi fluid grease that is commonly mistaken for axle seal failure,

This semi fluid grease is incompatible with the Toyota FSM recommendation of a lithium based grease,

Now I will tell you that I have gotten the feeling from day one that Toyota at some level knows better and dont care, so I have not contacted Toyota motor sales, now he describes you as a working in the engineering dept at Torrance,,

I have concluded that this engineering dept down there , specializes in engineering bull ****,

If this is not the case, please respond and I will let you know about this form of grease that real engineers use for less than oil tight power transmission devices,

HIS Silence Speaks Volumes, So Yep Blair, Prove I am misconceived about Toyota sales,

If I am all wrong about this then set me straight, Do it,
I think your have a Misconception of Toyota Sales,

So I emailed this guy,

No idea who he is but I think his silence speaks more to your accusatory email, not anything else.

So need some better answers, So step up help Rixxer out if your not a dirtbag and get him some answers,

Again, I am just saying Toyota is not some evil company trying to screw people over.

I would listen to Rix, he has been the one spending years working on the vehicles and is an expert. My experience working on Toyotas is limited to modding my 4Runner and doing trail fixes. I am in no way involved with grease on vehicles that are largely older than I am.

In this matter anything is gracious from Backwoodsgoop,

If that's how you translated that your Latin is as bad as your English punctuation.

I think your goal here is just to get your product mentioned as many times as possible for free... It doesn't matter if the post is positive, negative, or neutral, or even in some dead language... That's all good with you?

In my job from time to time I get emails like this too. Usually with broken sentences, partial thoughts and oddball grammar and punctuation. They are deemed to have come from an unstable person and we are advised to ignore them. Oh and before you ask, I do work for an engineering firm, but not Toyota (any arm of it) any of its suppliers, dealers or subsidiaries.

You seem to be trying to market a grease for trucks that almost no-one drives anymore. Hitting a forum, where (based on post count) most of us drive 3rd, 4th or 5th Gens, none of which need your product, and proceeding to insult everyone through a so called form of education is likely not going to achieve either of your goals...

Other than at an Amsoil convention, I have never seen anyone get this worked up about lubricants.

Good Luck with your $70 a gallon concoction

The Goal

The Goal is to get Rixxer out of the Cult of Toyota sales,

And if you go back to Theory #2 it is quite plausible, So this goop in the wrong hands could be deadly,

I am seriously considering making it only available to qualified personal, How,s That ? Since I primarily commute on a motorcycle I would not want a jacked up eighballers rig heading my way as Moses described,

It is all good with me, the product, the sales of the product is irrelevant @ this point,
The extraction, deprogramming and exit counseling is the goal @ the moment, cant sell this grease with the misconceptions promoted by Toyota Sales, Rixatus has gone everywhere I have cept maybee the Old School Jeepers and fought tooth and nail, It will continue, till a new leader emerges,

70 $ concoction, Sure and that,s not including shipping scares the hell out of a Ben Franklin, and also the 8 ballers, So little spendy sure, but thats about as cheap as it possibly can be with what is involved to get a grease like this,

Closest thing I have seen to it is a penrite semi fluid grease, bout the same $

So your right about the amsoil dudes, I kinda look @ that as the Mary Kay for Dudes,

Classic, and it not about the lubricant persay I get worked up about, It is the Brainwashing and Indoctrination of Toyota Sales, and the propagation of mis, or I should say Dis information,

This is why I am on your Happy little forum, Get any closer to the "Mushroom Factories" and they slam the Door,

Well you are on a 4Runner forum, and no 1997 4Runner used it. I am over 20.

And I do not work at a dealer. The "Toyota Sales" you keep referred to does not own a single dealer. This is why I am saying you have a misconception about what Toyota Sales is. Barking up the wrong tree, I have nothing to do with parts.

Here is a nice simple description from wikipedia...

Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. (TMS) is the Toyota sales, marketing, and distribution subsidiary devoted to the U.S. market. Founded in 1957 in California, TMS currently employs more than 6,500 people. Its current headquarters in Torrance, California supervises 14 regional offices.
TMS oversees sales in 50 states of Toyota, Lexus, and Scion products through a network of over 1,200 Toyota dealers (of whom more than 900 also sell Scion vehicles) and over 200 Lexus dealers. TMS develops Toyota's television campaigns and other nationwide marketing materials, and supervises dealer marketing to ensure that dealers present a uniform image. TMS also manages regional distribution, which occurs through 12 parts centers and five vehicle centers.

Your older than these Rigs,

No idea who he is but I think his silence speaks more to your accusatory email, not anything else.

So I spose you would still be a lot Lizard, but they might move you up soon,
Maybee put you in the parts dept, since you dont know about grease,

or if your lucky a service writer, So what do you do for the Sales company ??

97 Runner

Heres a nice simple example from the School of Hard Knocks Toyota Sales Blair,

1997 Runners aint got a #2 grease in the CV Boots,

So are you tracking now ??

#2 grease is viewed as not suitable for a CV joint, these axles have CV joints in them,
Your runner dont have #2 dog**** in it for lube, or even as speced by Toyota warranty a #1 grade lubricant for the spindle bearing,

#2 grease should never be used in a CV joint, or how they put it @ CV joint school, a Multipurpose grease, what is listed in the Toyota FSM is unsuitable for a CV joint,

So dont mind the years, or the models, we are talking about CV joint lubrication, It applies to your 97 Runner, If the Toyota sales advise or recommend a #2 grease for Your axle,

Disregard it, it is unsuitable,

Supervise Dealer Marketing,

and supervises dealer marketing to ensure that dealers present a uniform image.

Okay, well on this subject, if you consider the Shop a part of the marketing off the dealership the subject is all over the place

So TMS needs to step up to present a uniform image, because there are techs that state to leave it alone unless it is broken,, ( real good advise)

There are posts of Toyota dealer ships telling guys to mix gear oil and grease,

So to ensure the the dealers present a uniform image, Rixxer and many many others have been indoctrinated,
Because the un uniform advise from the dealership that said leave it alone unless is broken,

The consumer that got that good info, posted on Mud, and then he got the uniform bad advise,

Beginning to understand Blair ???
