New Runner

I am learning about these 4Runners more and more. It appears that there is quite a following. I got rid of my Tundra to something I can fit 4 kids in "legally". That being said I believe that I have a 5th gen. It is a 2013 Limited black 4X4, 3rd row.

On to the goodies now. I need to get a roof rack, basket, carrier, or whatever you want to call them. I need something that is not going to break the bank, but would like to have some quality as well. Can anyone out the point the way or offer some options on the basket that you have had good experience with.

Next. With the Tundras it seems everyone wanted the loud exhaust. Not me, I would like more optimal flow for better performance. Any suggestions out there. Being a "New Runner" any advice is welcomed.

You will still only get noise with a catback exhaust on a 4Runner. Now if you want to replace headers and get rid of the cats and figure out a way to keep all the lights from going off on your dash then you could probably pick up 10hp or so. Same goes on the intake side. Just noise. We are a bit more realistic here than most places. Welcome to the forum!

Well, with a 4Runner that is the last thing that I want to do is cause noise inside the cab. The limited is super quiet. And after having a loud Tundra it is kind of nice. I just figured that there might be an option that someone knew about for a better flow keeping the noise low and out of the cab.

You will get more flow in certain points but where it counts is not where you will increase it! Then even if you do put on a larger throttle body then you have that pesky ECU leaning it out to keep the proper mixture. Next step would be changing the ECU parameters right? Sorry. Toyota has them locked up tight. If you want quicker acceleration then you can change the gearing and that's about it unless you want to rip out the interior to lighten it up. If you want better efficiency you can drive slower or better or again, lighten the weight by putting some Rays Wheels on to decrease unsprung mass. Again we are slightly more realistic over here.
