NEWB Nav Question

I just purchased a 2007 SR5 - no JBL system.

What "Camry Navi" system and out of what year, part number, etc etc do I need for my car, and what parts are needed? I am wanting to use my factory steering wheel controls as well as control my Iphone.

Camry nav is the headunit that has an analog output signal to the JBL amp. The number in the 2004 Camry is E7003. This is a one piece unit, with both the CD and DVD-ROM map slots behind the display.

The nav from the 2005-06 Camry should also work. I don't know if those have been updated. (The 4th gen 4Runner has had at least three different nav headunits.)

Yeah, I'm having a terrible time trying to make a decision.

I like the OEM look - but I would like to have Nav and a DVD player, as well as the flexibility of an IPOD input and the option of pre outs so I can run a 4 channel and a 2 channel amp out of it - but maintaining my factory steering wheel controls.

I am trying to weigh the options between just getting factory, or going aftermarket - and if I go aftermarket choosing the correct unit that just lets me ground out the parking brake lead. I may just settle and get an in-dash dvd player and not worry about navi.

Any opinions?

It has DVD video playback and an iPod interface too. This may be a better way to go than the Camry nav. IIRC, SNS came out in 2008 vs. 2004 (to '06) for the Camry nav--newer and better looking graphics.

I would go aftermarket since you can find them as cheap as $400 bucks online now and they will tend to have better sound quality than OEM with the preouts that you need to connect to an amp. Furthermore, they usually have better ipod/iphone integrations too.
