What up guys. I just picked this 4runner up for my son. Super clean with only 117k miles. Its the sport edition. I really like the hood on these things. I have plans to lift. Its only 2wd but I want it to sit higher. I'm looking into toytec. My plans right now are to purchase rear springs and bilstein shocks and front spacer. Then in the near future all I would have to do is buy the coilovers for up front. Has anyone used the coil spacers? DId you like it, pros and cons? Also I picked up 2003 tundra wheels. Three are primered and the one is a metallic silver. I'm thinking they may be to bright for my liking. Before I paint the other three does anyone have any recommendations for color. Also is 265/70/17 a good size tire to go with a 3" lift. Any responses will be extremely helpful. Thanks and merry Christmas.

Car for your kid?? What do you drive?
I planned on selling my runner since I bought it cheap. But now my other car just sits. I plan on selling my x5. Something about the 4runner I feel attached. Not sure why. It has way less power. Way less creature comforts. I would even say the x5 looks better.
So. I say it maybe your new 4runner. Especially when you start modding it. Lol:guitar2:

Imo I had a 3 inch lift on mine for a while and was running 265/75r16 and it did look a little goofy.. but now i've got 285/75r16 and am loving it.. Kind of wishing I went 295 or 315 but my broke college budget says otherwise
definitely go 33's though.. that's just me though!

I'm running 285/75/16's with a 3" lift. minimal cutting, if you want to keep it safe then go for 265/75, maybe 285/70. I only had to cut off 1" of the plastic and I love my 33s.
before the lift, and the wheels were plasti dipped ,lug nuts caps and didn't even take them off the truck. the step bars were chrome, so we plasti dipped them, the tires were michelin 275/70/65….modest but needed changes. need to get 2 sport edition emblems for the doors, had to take them off, because they were bad….

you're in Chandler, Steve Schaefer is literally in your back yard, and so I would highly suggest looking into the SS 1.2A lift he offers
These are what I drive,,, audi is the daily which means to the gym and back. I also have a co truck. Then my trucks are my babies which I keep in storage and rotate those on the weekends.

SO you are using the spring 3 inch spacer? If so does it ride like factory. I was able to get the spacer of craigslist for 50 bucks. So I ordered ome890 for rears and I also ordered the 5125 bilstein shocks for rear. So my plan was if I didn't like the 3inch spacer all I would have to do is order the coilovers and I would have essentially have a complete lift. Love the blue. I was lucky good price on this one and it already had a complete stereo system and cold air intake as well as remote start alarm.
My kid is so lucky I love cars and hate them stock. He's on his 4th car and he's only 17. I need an intervention.

HOw do you like your coopers atp. Those are the wheels I'm looking at because of the high mileage warranty.
I have the toytec OME coils 881 front springs with the spacer plate to get 3"
rear are 890 coils for 3". I like the ride a lot better, the front use to dive when i hit the brakes, all better know. I hear you on the stereo system. He just got everything he needed for xmas for a complete system. new deck, jl amps, mb quarts mids and highs, the old school german ones, and a 2 12" kicker sub box.

Sounds like you and I went to the same school of being a dad. I have never owned a vehicle that I didn't have a loud system in within a week of owning. Its my trademark. My son use to be into tuners and it drove me crazy cause I love bagged or lifted. So when he said dad I wouldn't mind something lifted, I jumped on line and found this beauty. Its super clean. I have owned nearly 30 cars in my life and this is my first Toyota. I love it. Trying to talk the wife into a lexus because of that, but she loves her beemers.
