Hey all, we have an '11 SR5 with tan leather. My wife pointed out that her dark pants have made smear marks on the seats. It's only got 2k miles so wanna know if others have this same experience.

Also, when turning the steering wheel, I can hear a buzzing sound like actuator. Is this common?

Thanks

You have to clean and condition leather seats periodically just to keep them in a good shape. It's easy and search is your friend:

2K miles? Really shouldn't need cleaning/conditioning anytime soon. Maybe the dye coming out of the clothing

BTW :welcome:

My ex had dark markings on the interior of her car, passenger side dash and seat, turned out to be from her heels. You notice I said my EX!

Hey, about how often do you guys normally clean/treat your interior. Just as needed depending on the use like if you've carried multiple passengers for a while or maybe something like every other oil change or so? And what do y'all use on like the plastic bottoms of the seat and dash? Thanks guys.

I've noticed this as well on my tan leather, and I've had mine just a week and a half.....it is like the dye from my jeans transferring to it.....kinda odd....

No. We all have power steering. And if the power steering pump is the item that is making the sound, I would have that checked. You should not hear it working inside the cab.

Yes I planned on getting it looked at at 1st oil change. Dealer recommends oil change every 5k, what do y'all recommend? I doubt dealers use any type of synthetic blend. I use synthetic blend and change at 4k in my tundra.

Where did you buy yours from? Mine came fom Gulf State Toyota and I believe leather was"port installed" or something like that

These vehicles have full synthetic motor oil. Do you tow a lot? Do you drive the majority of your miles off road ? Do you only drive 5k/year? If not, then changing full synthetic at 4-5K is a waste of money. 10K is fine for average drivers.

Tell your wife to wash her pants. The dark coloring is simply color transfer. Any leather cleaner will clean it right up. Been there done that.
