Newbie wheel question

Yeah they are a great wheel and look fantastic too. I really like the look of the whole line of Fuel offroad wheels. These remind of the old classic wheels that you would see on the older trucks that were made in the 70's. Sort of like what I my dad had on his old 4x4 Silverado custom back in 1977. Its a bit of a nostalgic feel which is why I fell in love with the design.

Weren't you running with DuraTracs before? How significant is the road noise between those and your M/T's?

My wheels are Fuel Boost sized 18x9 (made by MHT). I went with a wheel shop locally to get my wheels. Mainly because they can mount and balance everything for you too. Plus the shop I went with beat the internet prices to get my business.

Anyone have the Fuel "Hostage" black rim on a black truck? Pixs? Thanks!! Down to Boost and the Hostage.

I have a black limited with black wheels. I think it looks pretty good. My wheels are 18x9 with a -12 offset.

Did you have to do a lift with those rims? Would I be able to fit these on with out a lift or with just a front lift?

Also, anyone have MHT KRANK'S on, silver. They look sick

If you go with these wheels and a tire that is the same height as the factory tire then no lift is needed. My tires are just about 33 inches tall so I did lift it.

The wife(who will be driving the truck about 50 percent), has talked me into less of a offload tire and more of a road tire with the new rims. Still plan on upgrading tires to a wider size. Wondering if this rim style will still look good with the tires. Hate to change rims now as I really like the fuel or atx styles. What do you guys think. Black truck/limited.

On their website, you can pick your color and see how they look on a Sequoia. For some reason 4Runner isn't on there. Sequoia is pretty close i guess. Give it a shot MHT Luxury Alloys

Any thoughts on going to a smaller wheel than the 20 on the limited? Say 18?

I'm seriously considering doing that and putting on 275 65 18.
It's just not worth the safety risk to put bigger tires than recommended on the stock 20s, it sucks but at least we have choices.

I honestly dont know the max height that will fit on the 4Runner without a lift. If my memory serves me correctly the stock tire height is 31.5 inches and my new tire height is about 32.7 inches. With the 1.2 inches I gained in height I had significant rubbing isssues which required trimming my front fender liners.

To address your second question my XREAS did not have to be modified or anything. If I still had P rated tires on it would feel just like factory, but my new tires are an E rated LT tire so the ride is a bit less refined now.

In my "un-humble opinion"(imuho)..., NOTHING...handles like a L.E., with an extra wide (275-285), low profile tire, on the open road.

WOW!!! What a beauty!!!

If ever I would see this truck on the street, I will...pull over, get out, SOLUTE, and allow it to pass; just out of respect.
