New to the 4runner coming out of a 08 cherokee srt8 and just ordered a Limited black/black that is due in about 12 weeks. My question is this. I want to switch out the stock rims with an all black rim. Thinking of possibly a 5 star pattern but not sure? Anyone have something simliar setup or a least a few leads of some good looks? Would appreaciate thoughts. Thanks..

There are a ton of photos in the lifted thread that you can look at. Plus a bunch of threads on aftermarket wheels. Look at the other generations too since the bolt pattern is the same. just remember 17" and up for size.

Didn't know if I would be switching out the tires immediately with the rims when first getting the truck, so not real sure how some of the rims will look with the limited stock tires? Want to go with a black rim with the black truck. Anyone leave the stock tires on with the rim change?
I had started thinking the same and decided to switch tires as well. I had also been looking at the toyo 285/50/R20 for the truck. 99 percent of time will be highway. Just had the toyos on my srt8 and it was a good tire. Anybody else upgrade the tire but not offload at all?

I painted them myself. It was a weekend long endeavor, but well worth it. :bigok: Between prep stuff, paint, clean up, ect it was probably about $60 or so. :reddance:

What rim is that? Looks good. What does the ATX Artillery and Crawl look like on the black Limited? Anyone? Will switch out the tires, but will keep a road tire, just a tad wider. Thanks for the help with the questions.

Thanks! Yea it was a ton of prep work, but the painting part is easy. As long as you take your time and just be patient with it, they will come out looking great! I have had mine through multiple "touchless" (which is simply code for "power-wash with soap") car washes and have had ZERO issues with any paint degradation or flaking. They look great in person and I'm couldn't be happier with the outcome. :banana:
How does the color of the rim match up with color of your truck? Is it a gloss black rim? Do you have a side profile pix of your truck? Thanks!!
On the MHT site, looks like these are a matte black in color? The configuarator they have on website to see what the riims look like on the vehicle make the rims all look a different shade of black.
