Nitto Ridge Grappler?

Do more homework. You have a lot to learn.

Once again my apologies, in regards to research perhaps you should redouble your efforts, or if you are that sure of your findings perhaps you should contact Toyota USA and inform them that their brochure and website are incorrect. either way you have lost all credibility with me. Once again, Happy New Year

thank you for your comment, it inspired me to double check my info and I am 100% confident you are incorrect, both about the wheel width and ride height. if you hadn't said anything I doubt I would have double checked with Toyota. Happy New Year.

He actually isn’t wrong, the pro sits 1” higher in the front and same height as other models in the rear. The Pro wheels are definitely 17x7 (I have the boxes they came in if you need a pic of the label to be re-assured. The trail/TRD Off Road do have 17x7.5 wheels.

Dude, you’re not reading the brochure correctly. I’m staring at a 17 brochure right now and it says nothing about the height for the Pro. What you are likely reading is that it has 2.5” diameter front shocks, which is the size of the shock body and not lift height.

I can with 100% confidence tell you that a Pro sits approximately 1” higher in the front and exactly the same as others in the rear. I parked mine next to a Pro at the dealer and measured them on level ground from center hub to fender. The Pro sat at 21.1” front and 22.5” rear. Mine was 20” front and 22.5” rear.

Everyone is telling you you're wrong. Is that not enough? I wish you luck in life with that attitude, you're going to need it.

He says he is very new at this in an earlier post, but goes off on how right he is.

Back on topic - I finally got my C load stock sized RG installed and they are a nice upgrade over the TG that comes on pros. They are definitely heavier and you notice the weight at lower speeds but the level of grip in wet and snow is improved. I've taken them up to 90mph and no noticeable noise increase. They also look great.

is it not possible to be both new to a forum and 4Runner ownership and also correct? my nephew is 9 and has only been doing math for a short time compared to those of us in our 30's and 40's yet if you try and tell him 5+5=12 he's still going to tell you you're incorrect.

Hey- you've done shartted up this thread enough with your passive aggressive BS. Go bounce your thoughts off your nephew.

You are actually the one who is trying to tell us that 5+5=12. Everything you have said is inaccurate and you continue to push back with zero proof beyond stating Toyota provides the facts you are claiming, when in fact Toyota does not state anything that you are claiming anywhere on their website or brochures. Essentially you probably are being lied to by a salesman with no knowledge and using that as your source.

Go find a real source and quit stating"alternative facts" as reality.

excuse me, but if you look back to page 31 you'll find this thread had been quite dormant for 18 days before I posed my question, to which I have received some very helpful advice, it was those other two jokers that pulled the thread off topic. Further, I am quite sure I have just as much right to post here as you do.

P.S. google passive aggressive, I am not convinced you know what it means.

You must be a lonesome fellow Jordan. You and your nephew have a wonderful day.

Aftermarket replica trd pro rims are 17x7.5 whereas OEM trd pro rims are 17x7. I know cause I own a trd pro with OEM rims and I just had my RG installed.

yeah man that wasn't really the question that was the distraction, and it was pretty clearly resolved last year (12/31) the questions I had originally asked, to which I am seeking as much feedback as possible are as follows. 1 how do they wear and how is the road noise, and 2 is anyone running the 285/70/17 size on an otherwise stock rig? the only helpful answers I have gotten so far are from Lawndart and gm350... additionally how do they behave in different terrain environments, are they really as advertised, better than an AT but a hair down from a MT?

Wear seems to be good, but I have E-rated..so may differ if you do C-rated 285/70's. I have maybe 10,000 miles on mine and as long as I keep them at a good pressure (running 38 PSI) they seem to be wearing as expected. I don't have lugs missing, but I do have chunks missing from rocky trails...nothing significant, but more than I noticed on my Toyo OC Rt's.

Road noise...that's kind of relative as to what you think is loud versus someone else. They are quieter (to me) than my Toyo RT's, but they are still noticeable.

I think they behave great in wet pavement and on trails. They grip up nicely when air downed and the side walls are thick. I know a few folks with them in the e-rated 305 size and haven't heard anyone ripping a sidewall yet. Definitely better than an AT, but in reality its more like an aggressive AT...like all the other tweener tires...Duratracs, Toyo RT's, ATW's, STT's

I like them and I'll likely do another set unless something comes along that I want to try.

Getting a set of 305/70r17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers installed as we speak. Can’t wait to see how they look. I’ll post back with pics and initial impressions later.

Any pictures? Any issues?

Here are a few I took as soon as I got the keys and was still in the Discount Tire parking lot. Then after a quick laser wash to get all of the salt off. This thing looks and feels so frickin awesome now. I love it. It does rub very badly though. Both on the front fender well and near the body mount. So I’m planning on a weekend of cutting coming up.

The weight and changed gear ratio due to their size is definitely noticeable, but it’s not as horrible as I had imagined it to be. It’s definitely slower, but still has plenty of power when I jam on the gas. I am dreaming about regearing and getting a locker, but that’s gonna have to wait a while.

These are super quiet compared to my KO2’s. I didn’t realize how loud those were. The ride feels great on these. I just roll right over potholes and bumps Now and barely feel a thing.

Looks great! How much caster are you running in your alignment? More caster will not only improve your ride quality but will also shift your tires forward. This may solve your BM rub or at least help it. I'm running the same tire in a 295 and have no rubbing and plenty of room on the BM. Only had to trim the lower inner lip of the plastic bumper and I was good to go. I think next time around I will be going with the 305. I also plan to gear down to a 4.56 between now and then.
