Anybody here have their Ridge Grappler's for over 2 years yet? Mine just hit 24k miles of daily city driving, road trips, offroad parks, and lots of forest roads. Tread depth is now 9/32" opposed to new at 16.4/32".
Over the weekend I took them out into some fresh powder and found them lacking traction when I needed it. Lots of slippage even in 4lo and I lost confidence after getting stuck for the 3rd time. I was easily sliding off track. I didn't experience this with my previous tires by Cooper. Ran between 10-15psi. Might be my driving, might be the tires, or some other factors.
I also notice these allowing me to fishtail more on wet roads more than before.

I'm at 27,000 now 4/16" tread left. I have had a mix similar to yours, Maybe 500-600 miles on moderate trails and lots of dirt roads. Lots of travel in the Colorado mountains during winter.
I noticed at about 24,000 miles that the siping was beginning to disappear on some of the lugs. It seems some of the siping doesn't go as deep as others.
Balancing and alignment have been no issue with rotations every 5,000 miles and I've aligned it three times although once was due to me knocking a wheel way out of alignment off road.
On road they have been great. Noise really hasn't increased significantly since new. Wet on road has been good. Snow and ice on road are very good although not quite as good as Duratracs but much better Than KO2's, although I ran them only briefly because I really didn't like them.
Off road they are excellent and excelled in all conditions. (Although I never ran them in anything super muddy being from Colorado, only a trip through some mud in Ohio.) Traction in Moab was great. Snow off road has also been excellent although this winter will tell the tale. I was in the mountains twice this season so far and traction is good although not as good on ice as it was initially. (Probably due to lack of siping.)
I would say that I like the tires and they have performed very well. Although I am disappointed in the siping. I am trying to hold off till spring on getting tires (Figure 30,000 miles which is all I expect of my tires) but this winter may force a different decision. I am as of yet undecided on if I will run another set. I definitely like that they are a 285/75/17 in C range. Made the ride much better.
My C4 rear bumper is due to ship this week so we'll see how they do with that extra weight.

I've never been able to get a good experience with Dick Cepek over the last 8-10 years. They used to be my go to tire brand for off-road, but in the last decade they have fallen behind the big names.

Made by Cooper. They sound like the AT3 LTX with a different tread pattern. Couldn't be any worse than only getting 30,000 miles out of a Nitto.

I think if you're looking for a long mileage tire I'd look at TOYO tires or maybe BFG, they tend to run very long. However, in my opinion there is a set of trade offs there. Hard compound long mileage tires are by virtue much worse in ice and wet conditions as it's very difficult for the tire to flex enough to open the sipes. (Snow tires are very soft compound so they flex) Especially with a relatively light vehicle like a 4Runner. As well they ride much more harsh. This is also why I look for a more mid load range tire. (Yeah yeah I hear you on the side walls but never had a problem yet.) I personally think E range is overkill for our trucks. I'm sure the Nitto tires will run to about 40,000 miles. I'm just not planning on keeping them that long.
I view tires almost as a safety item, think family of four 3-4 hours from anything. Once the tread gets low I am done with them. I am sure I'll be able to sell my 4 used tires for more than the price of one new one. Effectively making up the difference in cost so I can have fresh rubber.

The Nitto TG table on specs is pretty clear on wheel size. For 285 7.5 - 9.5 is OK with 8.0 being the sweet spot.

The taller and stiffer the sidewall, the less effect having a too narrow wheel will have on tread wear and contact patch. I have the TRD wheels with BFG's in a 285/70, and so far I have about 50K miles out of my tires. They are probably good for another 7-10K miles. I would have bet that they would have been worn out at 40K, but it is like they got to a point and stopped wearing out.. ha!. Anyway, my next tire choice is going to be a 295/70 with the oe TRDP wheels.
Just bought a set in 285/70r17 C-Load and used the discount!
