No more Ice-Link for Toyota or Lexus WTF???

I was looking at the Dension site to get an IceLink kit for 4R for my new Mini IPod (christmas present). Both Lexus and Toyota links didn't work anymore, so I send them an email.

Here's the reply I got:
"We no longer make icelinks for Toyota's. Thanks and have a great day."

WTF, I'm not happy now. WOnder what is the story????

Any place I can get these from a retailer that might still have stock?
Dension still sells the mounting kits, but seemingly not the Icelink itself.

dsongalong called and they told him it would be early 05 when new ones would come out. Maybe they were referring to the v1.1 ICELinks in your e-mail. It would be interesting for you to also call and see what story you get.

It would seem really odd, and I would be very disappointed in Dension, if the discontinuation were true. One of the guys from Dension even became a member either here or at Yotatech to supposedly help out with ICELink questions (albeit that was forever ago and he only posted a few times).

Let us know if you find out anymore about this.

Yeah, just use the [email protected] address. Make sure you include the purpose for the e-mail along with the information they ask for you to provide in my previous post. Without my tracking number for reference on their side they may not know what you are talking about. Good luck. I hope it comes out soon. I don't know what their problem could be as the ICELink v1.1 works just fine in my truck.

Hmmm...looks like we're getting different answers from the Dension guys. This was roughly my conversation with the sales associate at Dension:

Me: Hi, I'm looking at your website and want to purchase the IceLink for my Toyota 4Runner.
Dension: Oh! We're in development for your vehical as we speak. It should be ready come Feb/March.
Me: What about the v1.1?
Dension: Yeah, that model has been discontinued.
Me: uh....ok. Thanks.
Dension: Thanks for calling Dension. Happy New Year.
Me: Thanks, Happy New Year.


I don't understand how they could have the v1.1 work and not the 'Plus'. If anybody out there wants to sell their v1.1, i'm interested. I'm getting impatient!

urg...I was going to do the IceLink mod first, THEN XM on the Scion HU, but maybe I should switch the order.

I remembered someone here posting that they had one and it worked great. When I couldn't find one I was emailed saying Toyota was never supported. After asking if that person had brain surgery, I was told that I could be placed on a waiting list.

Doesn't sound to me like they have their act together. Its dissappointing too because I was ready to drop up to $300 on it. Plus buy the "Aftermarket" version for my boat. Oh well. Their loss I guess.
