Non power lift gate -> power liftgate.. anyone?

My wife is pregnant and would like the ease of pushing a button for the rear liftgate to go down instead of trying to man handle the thing down. I assume it wont be the cheapest thing... but has anyone done it? Ideas on how to approach it?

You can always buy a new Jeep Grand Cherokee that has this feature. As you said it will not be cheap. If you think your 4runner is bad try a new 5th gen. It does not even have the strap to pull on.
