Noob Needing LE 5 Gen Help...Tires...Ugghhh

Hello, I am a noob as you can see. Thanks for having me!

I have a 5th gen T4R Limited and need to buy new tires do to two side wall flats :-( Not pleased with my whopping 2 options that "technically" fit 20's.

I am open to semi aggressive AT's or smooth riding tires.

Questions:
1) Does putting on tires off of rim specs void any warranties?

2) Specific tires you all have seen work that will not require a mod and no rub? (did a search, did not dig up very much)

OR

If no void of warranty, what 20 inch rims size can I buy that would open up lots of options? I am thinking dull gun metal gray, I have the Magnetic Gray 4Runner.

I am going with 17" FJ Cruiser steel wheels with BFG AT KO's, I think they are LT265/70/17 that I had on my 4th Gen.. Switching to a 17" wheel will give you alot more options for tires.

There's not much out there in a 20"AT and the quality tires in that size are big $. That's why most guys are switching to 17"s on the Limited. Myself included.

I went with Bridgestone Dueller Revo's in a 255/55 and they've been great. No rubbing, no issues whatsoever. They ride great, look much better and the vehicle seems to handle better. I'm assuming you meant 275/55. It seems there are a lot of options in that tire size. Prices aren't that high in that size either being less than $200 per tire.

To those who have switched from the 20s, did you notice a difference in the ride or gas mileage?

I just got my LE yesterday and love it with the exception of the skinny pimp tires and rims. I want to dump them ASAP.

I'm looking for a nice setup that will not screw with the computer or odometer. I use my truck for hunting which requires going through mud, rocky terrain but don't do any serious rock climbing or anything like that. Any suggestions would be great.

I noticed a light decrease in gas mileage - very slight - maybe a mile/gallon, but it seems ride and handle better. The speedo is still accurate. I go out a lot in the winter down forest service roads, skiing... things like that. Nothing hardcore, but for what I do, the Revo's have been great.

I like the looks of your setup but prefer the 17in rims to the 20s. I've had SUVs for the past 20 yrs and just can't get used to seeing 20in rims on a SUV. So, I plan on switching rims and tires and selling/trading my current setup ASAP.

Any comments/advice from those who changed from the 20s to 17s is appreciated.

I don't have mine mounted yet, but the 17" BFG AT's are about .5" taller than the stock 20" Duellers. That's about the same difference that my 4th gen. was, and the speedo was about 4mph slow. I always cross reference my Garmin for speed.

if you stick with 20's I'd do the Hankook Dynapros.

but....the 17's ride soo much better with the Duratracs.

Decided to open up my options and with new 20's (deliver Thurs), tires undecided currently.
