Normal....I think?

It seems it would be easier to just move your left foot over to the brake pedal if your on such a steep hill your in fear of rolling back in the split second it takes to move your right foot to the gas pedal, or better yet just give it a slight amount of gas to maintain position on the hill.
Now when I was driving around San Francisco in my manual tranny tacoma and getting stuck at stops on very steep hills I coulda used something like this. ;-) for my 4runner I don't get the need for it tho. More fluff.

Tried this the other night. Came to stop with brake, let go, and started to roll back then clack clack clack (slowed the roll) then the roll sped up and then another clack clack clack slowed the roll but didn't stop it.

I'll have to try hard brake then let go, because the system doesn't work like I thought it would! I was into a fairly substantial roll before the system intervened.

From my experience pulling the boat and trailer up a launch ramp, you want to prevent ANY backwards motion so I usually hold the brake until the RPM's rev up a bit. If a hard brake does the trick on this it might make boat ramp activities a tad easier!!

Thanks to all on this forum. I'm finding it a great opportunity to learn more about our rigs and the people that drive (and love) them.

EDIT: I tried it tonight, and no matter how hard I mash the pedal mine doesn't stand still for a second. It starts rolling right away. Ah well, it was worth a shot!
