North Carolina Meet and Greet

I would like to have a little meet and greet here in Raleigh, well 20 min east of Raleigh in a little town of Clayton.

It is centrally located for the guys in Fayettnam and for those in Greensboro.

DOUS is leaving for School next month and it would be cool to meet every one in person.

Hopefully Doc will have his axle fixed and rolling. We even have some Runners at the beach visiting from other states.

The Meet will be this Sunday (Heat wave has finally past). I have a small farm that has some mud and a tiny bit of off roading. It will be more Meet and Greet then off roading

But we will make it a Gun day. I'll bring some NFA guns and let who has not try one try it. I will bring a little bit of everything for all to try. If you have any guns, you are more then welcome to bring them and shoot.


Let's get a head count for this mini meet.

I won't be able to make it. I told my son that I would spend time with him this weekend, because I spent almost all last week on the Runner. He does have a visit at 3 on Sunday with his mother, so I might be able to get away then, but it's still a 2/2.5 hr drive from Conover to Clayton. Not to mention, my future ex-wife might be a little pissed because she JUST moved down here from Indiana. Kinda short notice. If you could push it back a week, I could more than likely make it, maybe even bring the future ex-wife so she can get use to wheeling.

I'm picking up my 3rd from ECGS Friday($710, luckly my brother volenteered to pay for half), as well as a F250($75) tank from a place here in J-Vegas on the way home. I'll be getting a 48" driveshaft($80) from a guy in Ashville saturday morning. Planning on probably being up all night Friday night fabbing the tank to accept the Toyota stuff, and fabbing the mounts to hang the tank, as well as installing the 3rd. That way, all I have to go Saturday morning is go to Asheville and pick up the shaft, put her in, and see how she does.

I really hope it was the shaft that was f*cked from trying to lengthen it, and not the pinion angle. The shaft and pinion are within 1.5*, so I don't see how that could cause the shaft to snap. Guess I'll find out this weekend.

I was honestly thinking of making a run to Uwharrie sometime this month, even if I'm in 2wd locked. I know she can handle it. If I go, it would probably be around the 28th, or the 4th of August. If anyone would be interested in going, let me know. It's in Troy, NC, and has about 16miles of trails. Cost is $5 per day(?), but, fair warning, It's in BFE. There is a gas station about 5-10 miles away, and that's it. So, that would be the meet up/fill-up/stock-up point, also where we would pay for our passes.

There are some trails that are pretty knarly, and some that are fairly easy to get around. All depends on your skill and comfort level, as well as how you have your rig built. I'm probably going to end up taking the front bumper off, just for the hell of it.

Oh, yeah, probably gonna do that mod this weekend too. Move the turn signals into the corner light housing.

I have full custody of my son. He stays with my parents for the time being because it's not fair for him to be with me here. I go to the field often, need to be at work early as hell, and stay late as hell most of the time. I don't know anyone over here that could/I would trust watching him. That's why I go home on the weekends, to spend time with him. Had to go to court and all that jazz, and the court said the c*nt ex-wife gets to see him the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sunday of every month from 3 until 8, and every other Wednesday. Unfortunately, this is the 3rd Sunday, so he gets to go with his mother. No way I can get around that. She wants us to change our scheduals, but isn't willing to change her's at all.

Depending on how long you guys are out there for, I could probably manage to swing by Sunday evening on my way back to J-Vegas. Hopefully I'll have my clocking ring, so even if the rear shaft isn't going to work, I could just put it in 4WD and drive it like that.

Dang! :crybaby: can't make it Sunday, I am working 72hrs this week and Sunday is my only family- church day this week, would love to do the ure trip though, I have made a few trips there but only one with the 3rd. Let me know!

I may make it out there, it would be my first 4Runner meet-up as I've only had mine about a month I know my location says NY...I'm moving from Raleigh soon so I just went ahead and put NY haha. I'll actually be heading to Wilson that night anyway to put a new HU in, add wheel spacers, speakers, sub, and sound deaden the inside.

Just to give everyone equal opportunity to make plans and schedule a trip, I would like to change the meet and greet to Sunday July 22nd. I sprung up this meeting without do considerations for others.

As for as Gun shooting, We are all adults here. Follow basic gun range rules and everybody will be safe.

There are plenty of "adults" that have no business with a loaded weapon in their hands, especially around a group of people. That is why, when you take a CC class, there are hours of instruction before the first round is ever loaded.

That is awesome. Thank you. I should be able to make that. Need to check and see what the plans are with the fam. It's my sisters birthday that day, and I just got off the phone with her and offered her to come along(the red heep in one of the pics is hers). She loves wheeling and guns though; has a little Sig Mosquito. I'll definately be able to get my son out there this time. I'm wiating on my mother to call me back and let me know what the plans are for my sisters birthday; as far as I know the only plan is going to dinner at a local resturant in Conover.
