When i first got in Colorado, got settled in, and on my way to DMV; i got pulled over originally for tinted windows. The officer told me that my tinted windows are mirrored asked for dl, reg and ins. He walked back to his patrol vehicle then later another patrol vehicle showed up. :wow: So he got back and asked me why i have a registered car in Nevada, a California driver's license, and i live in Colorado? I told him that i am a California resident and on my way to Colorado, my former car broke down in Nevada. So i got it fixed and traded that in and that's how i got Nevada plates and that I'm on my way to the DMV to staighten everything up.

Just so you guys are aware, in New York a police officer is not supposed to cite a out of state vehicle for equipment violations unless he can show that the violation would stand in that vehicles home state.

I don't know what state you guys are saying can write a ticket for equipment violations on out of state vehicles but I think its ridiculous if its true because the variations in laws throughout the country is not the drivers/owners fault.

And just so you guys don't think I am pulling this out of my a** I am a police officer in New York.

To be honest with you....the visibility is pretty good.
..Now.... if you are somewhere where the streets have no lightning ; it is extremely dark,...but in normal conditions it is good. Now ...for someone with vision problems specially at night?..I would recommend to go lighter.

They are lighter on the front windows to comply with some state laws (California for one).
I am pretty sure the reason is so the cops can see inside during a routine stop.
Put your window down (if tinted) when stopped in CA or you might be asked to step out at gunpoint.
Too many cops have been killed here in the land of fruits and nuts.
